This week, some players from Hustler Casino Live came forward with some devastating accusations. Nik Airball and Wesley Fei have accused Tony Mars (aka Ye Shen) of using marked cards to cheat in private poker games for millions of dollars. They have provided evidence of a rigged deck, accounting of the poker sessions, and claim that a known "mechanic" was dealing.

  • How does a poker player tell you he's gonna bring his own deck (as if that's the hard part in a poker game) and that doesn't instantly set off alarm bells in your head?
  • I'm also always upset when I get cheated out of a million by a friend. I wish they'd just stop doing that.

When somebody shows up to your super high stakes private poker game with their own special deck of cards they insist on using. You may want think about why.

Private Games in Los Angeles in my 35 year history of playing are FILLED with negative stories about cheating, follow home robberies, colluding, marked cards, etc.... The last time I played a private game was in 2005 when I was robbed of my $20K profit PLUS my original $10K after a Chatsworth California private game. It was a Set up and I learned my lesson.

Airball thinks anyone he plays poker with is a ‘very close friend’ of his. When they’re just people trying to milk his pockets haha

This is why you NEVER play high stakes private games. The probability of cheating/setup is extremely high

Now we believe in cheaters but when it happened to Garrett no one believed there could be cheaters.
  • "Tell you what, fellas. I'm gonna give you a chance to get your money back." (Pulls a set of dice out of his pocket.)

If there's money involved, people are going to try to find ways to cheat you out of it. When you consider people these days will cheat just to get on the leaderboard of a free online game, adding money on fuels the incentive. We had a couple of guys marking cards in Tampa and everyone excused their winning in odd spots as them just playing wild and crazy. The room manager even told me they used a burn card, how could these guys possibly know the runouts? Well, they were marking the outside edges of the cards based on the values of the cards. And one of them always sat in seat 1 so he could see the side of the deck and know if it favored low, middle or high cards and they'd play accordingly (this was in PLO, not hold em)

I think it was David Blain on Rogan that said there were certain card games where the cheaters would replace all the decks at local gas stations with marked cards. So unwittingly an innocent player would go to one of these gas stations, buy a "clean" deck and introduce the poisoned marked deck into the game thus aiding the cheater.

Thanks for making this entertaining… it hid how painful this all was. I must say it is getting more and more difficult to see poker as more than just entertainment these days.

Guys were using contact lenses to see marked cards in the 1970's.

It's not hard or expensive to buy 5 new decks of cards & open and prove them in front of the players. Any game where the deck is open before the first hand is no good.
