Watching your videos in order, I had to rewatch this one that I watched months ago when I was in the market for a trailblazer!

This is a great tutorial covering the components in an AWD vehicle Terry. I have to say though, I've never heard the term "I had a Jonah's of a time" used in a You Tube video before...very biblical and it sure paints a picture of how hard the front diff removal was!

Why cant you just leave the transfer case in it? Is there some sort of sensor on it or what
  • @joeday6029
I know what you went through to get that out its a big pain in the butt, I agree with all you had to say about that job. FYI if you have high mileage the catalytic converter's like to stretch and let the guts lose then that rattle in till that brake apart in to little pieces that will leave tiny pieces of platinum all over the back end of the SUV , and to get the exhaust Y pipe out you have to Jack and support the transmission remove the cross member that supports the transfer case, and finally you can remove that Y pipe also there may be 4 02 sensors that will also have to be unplugged along with the left rear 02 sensor wire leads that run across the cross member that wire will have to be free up as well .:-)
  • Hey great walk thru, bro. Quick question, What transmission did you go with after removing the awd trans?.
  • @DONTCALLMETHAT
Selling my set up from my 08 suburban. Never used the 4WD. Never needed to.
  • @danmooney6186
After all that was removed did you put in a new transmission or is there a new housing you had to put on. Also did you have to get a new driveshaft. I appreciate your channel I have learned a lot from it. In the process of removing the engine but I wanted to make it rear wheel drive.

What's your new one look like... what do you replace the cv axles with
  • @MIC-LS
When will you take it to the track, btw great video.

How much would you pay for a job like this? Im about to take out the engine and tranny to rebuild the 4l70 but my question is would it change anything? Or would it just be considered a rwd instead of a converted awd? Idk if that makes sense but just to let my mechanic know that my awd got converted into a rwd
  • @robertfina5782
So...just verifying I could potentially remove the cv's, axle shafts, and front driveshaft and have a rwd vehicle without any ill effects on the trans/transfer and no CEL?
  • @juanpinedo3679

I have am 2008 tbss awd i am doing a 6l90e rwd swap. Can i use the front stubs of a 4x4 trailblazer fron the same year to delete the awd. I have a spare pair of 4x4 axles so i would rather cut the 4x4 ones up and sell my tbss axle and drivline
  • @danteeckles7565
Hey Terry I have a 2007 trailblazer ss I want to make it rwd can I just remove the Front driveshaft and leave it like that?
