The Wicked Bible

In this video, let's look at the collection of "Bible errata". Or as I like to call them "Biblical Bloopers". From the "Unrighteous Bible" that favours the sinners to the "Owl Bible" that speaks of a group of owl husbands. All the product of an unfortunate lack of proofreading. I'll also take you though what "bloopers" scholars believe have been preserved in the text since ancient times; exploring Jesus was actually called Joshua and why robes, not camels, were more unlikely to be threaded through the eyes of needles.
As my term starts, I'm going to have to upload less frequently unfortunately. As much as I enjoy making videos, I've also got to get my degree! That said, I'll keep uploading and so continue Season II. I've got to balance my commitments for the time being.
On the cusp of 200k subscribers. Thank you all so much :)

So... shall I commit adultery on my owl husband?
-
Someone picking up their new bible and reading "thalt shall commit adultery." "Ok if you insist"
-
"Their owl husbands" God dang biblical furries
-
Okay, using rope instead of camel actually does sound like a much better metaphor.
-
the camel/needle line makes perfect sense as is, it’s saying that an impossible task is easier done than the rich being righteous
-
As a Christian, I love seeing this more non chalont type of research. It's a great seeing everyone so calm and understanding and nice to each other in the comments. :)

My favourites are the "Sin On Bible" (1716, Jeremiah 31:34 reads "sin on more" rather than "sin no more"), the "Lions Bible" (1804, 1 Kings 8:19 reads "thy son that shall come forth out of thy lions", rather than "loins") &, of course, the "Printers Bible" from 1612, in which Psalm 119:161 reads "Printers have persecuted me without a cause" rather than "Princes have persecuted me..." because the printers certainly have persecuted these texts! Hee hee hee...

Awesome! New vid. Hochelaga is so consistent and such high quality- it’s a like before I even press play.
-
"Thou shall not miss any hochelaga's videos" This is something we can all agree to, right?
-
5:05 I love how you imply that they were implying they had owl people, even though we all know it's a typo. It's just the nonchalant way you said it
-
" the owl bible?" more like " you furries have been around a while I see."
-
I love this channel and its biblical coverage so much, please do lots lots more i'll watch them all and make myself look smart on discord

This is all hilarious. Especially when this is also in the Bible (pre-copyright damnation copyright at Revelation 22:18): "I testify to everyone who hears the words of prophecy in this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and the holy city, which are described in this book."

Everyone be like "this is the absolute word" then have like several different editions with various changes/redactions.

Let’s e-a-t Grandma vs. Let’s eat, Grandma. Punctuation saves lives.
-
Thanks for the "not to scale" specification on the diagram. Because that was otherwise a very tiny camel or worse, a giant needle.

Here in my country we have a popular saying that goes "Escreveu e não leu, o pau comeu", roughly translating to "Wrote and didn't read, be hit with a stick ( the second part meaning you're in trouble)". It never made so much sense to me.

Try saying “Biblical bloopers” quickly 10 times.
