  • Wei Yi is like that one random airbender you used to chill with but disappeared for 100 years but then when the world needed him most, he returned.
  • @meekaboi
Good on Wei Yi for finally showing his class in a major tournament. It's ridiculous that he's been considered a has-been but is still only 24 years old!
  • @Bankmumric
Wei Yi is like the bishop which enters chess games from another dimensions
  • Wei Yi started college at Tsinghua University (Top 2 in China) School of Economics and Management in 2018. He's probably focusing more on school work in the past few years. Great to see him back at the top level.
  • @Jacobinks
VIDEO IDEA: A video on the history of corespondents chess, the craziest stories, the craziest games, everything. I think that would be an incredible video.
  • How does someone manage to hit world class, then disappear for a decade and make a triumphant comeback while being a full year younger than me. WTF.
  • This player appeared as unexpected as that one bishop which stands 69420 squares away and is on his way to take you queen 😂
  • I like this thematic continuity between the Tata Chees tourney recaps and now a Wei Yi deep dive.
  • @bauerch.
I've actually been following Wei Yi not long after I started playing chess (3 years ago). Unfortunately, I started following him at a time when he never played and was just gone from the chess scene. I started following him due to his attacking style of chess. You can call any top player like Hikaru, Magnus, Ian an aggressive or tenacious player, but not Wei Yi, He's literally an embodiment of the word attack in chess. I became a fan after watching his win vs. Alireza in the junior blitz 2019. He and Boris Spassky are the two players I would call my favourites. I'm happy he's finally getting the attention he deserves and Him finally getting back to the chess scene. I'm looking forward to his future games!

Wow. What a game! Thanks for making this video about Wei Yi, Levy ! One thing I noticed about his games during the Tata Steel tournament is his imagination and creativity -- esp. in the opening (throwbacks and/or sacrifices galore!). This man is truly a genius! Can't wait to watch him in future games! He could be the next world champion from China!
  • Its impossible to calculate something complicated as this game if you are not Super GM so many slightly different moves and yet you totally mess the entire position, this got to be one of most complex attacking game I watch in year or two. Even if some of the moves was forced maybe 5 or 6 still hard to see in such depth.
  • @TheMosayat
This is the type of game where I realize I will never ever be a chess master like these 15 year olds
  • @randys2669
Hearing Levy say "Skibidi Toilet" did more psychological damage than all the blunders in the "How to lose at chess" series combined.
  • Wei, Yi is such a legend He gave Magnus a chance for last decade
  • Awesome video! It was super instructional for Yi's style of play and how to think like a GM but I also love that you did a close study on a chess player to follow-up Tata Steel and who is probably oft forgotten/lesser known compared to the household names. Please do more on the other players.
  • @SamGubchak
Thanks levy!! Please do more of history chess!!
  • @AP-wc1kf
Wei Yi is like that cousin your mom keeps on comparing you to.
