In today’s video we buy and paint a trailer and get the jetski out on the water. Didn’t go as fast as I had hoped but I believe the combination of weeds and cavitation was slowing it down. #jetboat #boat #jetski #boattrailer #diy

Great job on the build! If cleaning the weeds or putting a smaller screen over it doesn't work, you could make the inlet work a little more like a forward scoop. If put a forward lip on the aft part of the inlet. Wouldn't likely need much, maybe 1/2" or 3/4". Just something to feed some extra water into the pump while underway.

you should have taken the boat out immediately after sailing over the plants then you should have gone full throttle

Sounds like it's cavitating at full throttle, try some more weight in the back. Get some 5 gallon buckets with lids and fill with water and place them to get the nozzle further under water

Time to start experimenting with different impellers. Like maybe a weed eater impeller.
