Ahhhhh! My first homeschool video! I'm super excited to share with you all our homeschool journey, starting off with our 1st grade curriculum picks. I know it looks like a lot of material but I promise I approach it in a way that is not overwhelming for my 1st grader, and we do not cover these materials daily. Math and reading for sure on a daily basis, but everything else are on rotation or used for extra practice.

I've used Math in Focus in the classroom for years, and I think it's a great program. Very strong problem solving component! We also liked the progression from hands-on to pictorial to abstract, which aligns nicely with your interest in making sure your sun understands the concepts behind the math he's doing. However, 2B is the second half of the year. You'll need to find 2A to start. Just a suggestion from 30-year elementary teacher: Do as much hands-on work with measurement of all kinds as you possibly can! It's difficult to truly master measurement on paper. Hands-on work will be much more fun and really help him to build conceptual understanding. Best of luck with your school year!
