  • When Holden says "She's gone" , He's actually talking about the big ship, The Canterbury. It is naval tradition to refer to ships as female. 'She was a fine ship!' But it is a natural thing, and probably a planned moment of dramatic confusion that you would also think he is referring to his girlfriend since she was cut short as she was telling him something important. You are starting something truly brilliant! You will very quickly become addicted to this show. If I could offer any advise, it would be to never ever take your eyes off the screen! You don't want to miss a single frame of this wonderfully produced drama.
  • @Luster...
By far one of the best sci fi shows ever created. You won't regret a minute spent on the show.
  • @eimhinduffy5736
I was literally after thinking that this is the perfect show for you guys. Such a great story with really compelling characters.
  • @17thknight
There's a double meaning to "She's gone". It's very common for sailors in English to refer to ships as "She" even though we don't gender nouns in the language. So the viewer isn't supposed to know if Holden is referring to his girlfriend or the ship in that moment, and neither does the crew with him.
  • @allenluo3747
"She" is a pronoun used for ships. When Holden said, "she's gone" and "they nuked her", he was talking about the Cantebury, not his girlfriend 🤣 If you're interested in Astronomy, you should also know that Ceres is a real planetoid in the solar system. Ceres, Eris and Sedna are part of the reason Pluto is no longer classified as a planet. Otherwise we'd be learning about the 15 planets of the solar system in primary school.

I finally get to gush about Lang Belta! “Sasa” or “sa-sa” basically means “to know” Other good words to know are “mi (I/me)”, “to (you)”, “im (he/she/they/it)”, “milowda (we)”, “tolowda (y’all)”, “imalowda (they)”, “inyalowda (inners)”, and “beltalowda (belters)” (Lowda on its own means people) Okay, I’m gonna stop for now before I say too many, I’m really excited you’re watching this show!

This is one of the best sci fi shows I've seen, you girls are gonna love it. The attention to detail is amazing
  • @tsogobauggi8721
You two are watching The Expance! Well this is a nice surprise! It is a great show. :) . 6:20 Lola: Is that blood? Milena swallows: Yes that is blood... :) 10:19 Those reactions to "Mike"
  • @MikeysPsyche
I get goosebumps every time I hear Holden say "Canterbury burn like hell!"
  • @jaives
here i am slowly being weaned out of The Expanse and moving on with my life. All my favorite reactors were done. I was gonna move on to a world without the show. And then this happened. Guess we're starting from the beginning...
  • @csako2668
After the first few/couple of episodes, the show EXPLODES - really takes off, no pun intended
  • @CaesiusX
I suppose the "she" Holden is referring to could also mean the ship. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I kind of took it both ways.
  • @danbadd
When Holden said 'She's gone' I took it as referring to the Cantebury, as ships are traditionally assigned female gender for naming and reference. Also, Julie Mao is from Earth, but was last seen on Ceres. Great to see you watching this amazing show. Instant sub.
  • @TheMick7823
So awesome you ladies are doing this you are going to love it. It’s the absolute best space battle scenes in any show. Did you realize Christian Avasarala’ voice is Grayson’s in Arcane ..
  • @MikeWillisUK
Oooooh yes! So glad to see you two watching this show! By far my favourite sci-fi show in recent years. Edit: Lola - "One of my favourite shows is Battlestar Galactica" ... Wow, could you stop being so perfect, please?!
  • @LeeCarlson
Holden is from Earth, as is Amos. Alex (with the drawl) is actually a Martian from Mariner Valley, and Naomi is a Belter as is Shed (the "sort-of" doctor). Josephus Miller is a burned-out detective working for the Star Helix security company in Ceres. And the woman that you meet on Eath is Chrisjen Avarsarela who is the Deputy Undersecretary for Defense with the United Nations. Part of the confusion is that in order to introduce all of the important characters from the books, the show-runners had to blend the first two novels into one stream from the beginning of the series.
  • @trav_9830
This show is magnificent and you two enhance everything you watch by being the most genuine, thoughtful and enjoyable reactors in the Milky Way. What a perfect match
  • @Kennia1998
Is this really happening? I must be dreaming omg my fav show and my fav reactors. You just made my whole year 😍😍😍😍
  • Holden is from Montana, not the detective on Ceres. Holden was the one who just promoted to XO on the Cant/the leader on the ship that left the Cant. Also, so smart of you to go back and rewatch the beginning. I remember doing the same thing in order to keep up. Lol
