That tells you something about the quality of the game, where you have to dig really deep to find a criticism.
-
The 3ds version fixed the biggest problem with the n64 game and made the boots an equippible item rather than an item you need to pause the game every time to put on and take off. This one change makes the infamously tedious water temple wayyy more tolerable. My biggest gripe with the 3DS version is it kinda ruined the final battle with ganon. The lighting was so bright whereas in the N64 version ganon was only visible when lightning struck which was so intimidating. They also turned his blood green for some reason.

you werent supposed to guess in the lost woods, you can tell which one to go in by the volume of the music. near the correct entrance the music gets louder.
-
Thing is, they used the N64’s limitations to their advantage. The lighting makes certain places like the Forest Temple and the final battle with Ganon more atmospheric. That being said, 90% of the time the 3DS looks a whole lot better

My brain can't remember math, but it can remember the exact location of every skulltula
-
If you look at the map, there is a skulltula symbol in each area that you have collected all the skulltulas in. Also there is one for the dungeons too. If you do not see a skulltula seal for an area, then set your sheika sensor to... I mean, search everywhere in that area until you find them.
-
They also made the Water Temple a bit easier to navigate on the 3DS version, which is something to welcome with open arms.l

"Fixed the lighting" uhm....idk man, i dont see the n64 dark lighting as a flaw, i saw it as part of the atmosphere, ocarina of time and majoras mask where dark games, hence their atmosphere was dark, which led to Twilight Princess, thats part of what i like about Zelda
-
3DS cause of gyro aiming, master quest included, character models closely resemble ORIGINAL art work, faster text speed, more colorful, removed some glitches (bad ones mainly), 4 free item slots with the ocarina having its own slot not taking up space, no crowded top screen, easy navigating touch screen, portability, and some others I'm probably missing
-
In my opinion I prefer the N64 version more purely because I believe it provides a much better atmosphere then 3DS (also N64 has rumble support which is pretty cool.) The 3DS does do some things better though like the gyro aiming and having the boots easily be taken off and on but that's all that the 3DS version has going for me. I'm not saying the 3DS version is bad in any way, I can see why many people prefer it over the N64 version but I'm going to stick to my gold cartridge.

I just want a version of the game on the Switch with the that is the 3DS version (but in 1080/720p resolution/textures). But it also needs the darker lighting of the N64 game.
-
If you never played, I recommend the N64, the game is darker, and that makes for an interesting atmosphere.
-
Gold Skulltulas were very easy to collect, it been a long number of years since i played n64 game but you jump down a hole with a Skulltulas coin throw a boomerang and warp out as it reaches you so you collect it and leave, now when you enter the hole the coin is back, and you can keep collecting it. So much easier than actually finding them all.
-
The fact that the 3DS version is older now then the N64 version was when it came out
-
I actually originally started on the 3DS for OOt but later played it on the 64 and I will say the loneliness and chills you get playing the n64 really takes you into that zelda world.

N64: made by Nintendo 3DS: made by the based Grezzo who made the underrated Ever Oasis
-
Great video! Would love to see one for majora’s mask
-
You forgot to mention some of the background in the N64 version uses pre rendered images like Temple of Time court yard and the exit to Hyrule Castle / Ganon's Tower from Hyrule Market, while the 3DS version uses all 3D models. Also the N64 version is 20fps while the 3DS version is 30fps
-
I think 64's is the best, it has a darker atmosphere, also the moving animation looks better
-
the best way i can describe the n64 vs 3ds version is that n64 can be more eerie and clunky at times, but the 3ds gets everything right, except i wish the lighting for the adult dungeons and final ganon fight was a bit darker
