Kashmir is one such place. That’s why we Kashmiris have high levels of anxiety.
Now with the pressures of modern-day world, the pressure to succeed, and the highly competitive environments unfortunately this anxiety has been sky rocketed.
Result is:
- drug addiction
- controlling behaviors
- unhealthy narcissism
- extramarital affairs.
-domestic abuse/ violence.
-overconsumption of anxiolytics/ sedatives.
- increasing depression.
- stress in young children.
- high divorce rates.
- unhealthy workaholism.
And so many more problems in society.
that’s why we Kashmiris need healthy ways to manage this anxiety.
Most of us pray. Besides prayers/ reading holy books, using deep breathing exercises along with physical activity can truly help us all manage our anxiety effectively, improve focus, bring happiness, improve interpersonal relationships, and decrease toxic behaviors and paranoia.
Whenever you feel an urge to create chaos, need to intrude in other people’s lives, ask for attention from family/ friends thus being a pain for them, or you see a need to take that alprax, to calm your mind or you can’t sleep. Or u see a need to spend thousands of rupees on unnecessary shopping just to make yourself feel good.
Sit in a quiet place, close your eyes or keep them open, and start taking long deep breaths with long pauses in between.
But remember to consult with a psychiatrist or seek counseling if your anxiety is affecting your day-to-day life or relationships.
Nothing can replace an expert's evaluation and proper treatment of an anxiety disorder.
These breathing exercises are meant for the prevention and management of anxiety. They can not replace the treatment of an anxiety disorder. Comment and share. Teach your children breathing excesses so that they too have tools to manage their anxiety.
