So many people disliking this video don't realize how much effort it is to put it together and good heart to share it with the rest. Shame. Thank you for this video.
  • You measured the spacing between the 2 pieces of wood 14 times. Nice!!

Good video with lots of good ideas and DOs and DON'Ts.  Timelapse video saves a lot of time during learning....

Standing the 2x4's up on the bottom would have been a better idea. It would have been a lot stronger. When you were laying on it, it was sagging big time. Nice project!!

strong storage to be able to hold you before it is complete. great job!

Yes! I was searching for a project such as this! It'll definitely be a HUGE help while I continue to look at Woody Hyezmar's plans which I found on his website.

I am going to do something similar but am going to use wire cable attached to the rafters and then the shelf. The shelf will be solidly attached to the wall and only the end will be cable supported so that it will not be unstable. I am going to use the cable because it will be a minimalist way to support the shelf and still work. Also, I have some to use!

The point where you think "I really hope this holds me up". Well done!

Thank you SO much for posting. Best video I have seen on do it yourself shelf building in a while. Only thing is maybe you can put a large battery operated clock where we can see ACTUAL REAL time construction. Looked like it took you a good part of the day to complete
  • very nice work. Really adds value to a home when storage solutions are done right and look good. A garage should never be drywalled. Too much moisture. All should be built with 3 quarter inch sheathing with the studs indicated IMO.

Very nice...just what I was looking for and will be easier for me since I have open ceiling. And don't mind those nay sayers thhi is a good design and if they don't like it they don't have to use it and if they don't like the music they can mute it. Thanks to sharing.

Stongly suggest ties/ hangers, and bolting the bottom crossmembers tot the verticals.. and one section wide enough to fit through in the middle for unstoppale storabilitagizing.
