Had shunt surgery in April. I’ve had 4 adjustments. One setting was great but 2 weeks later dizzy and off balance. I also suffer from vertigo in the center of my brain. I’m a 77 year old female. Any suggestions to be more normal? Please?
  • Is it always evident to see excess csf with an mri? Can positioning of the pts.head change csf flow pressure ?
  • Is there any contraindication to exercising with non-shunted NPH? Have you seen that PT or exercising can WORSEN or speed the progression?
  • What do you folks consider "Normal life" ? I live on a fairly remote ranch at 6500', I do ranchy stuff....

With the non-programable shunt, you do see A COMPLETE IMPROVEMENT!!!! We go back to normal life as opposed to the programable shunt!
  • In a senior aged person too frail or medically unable for surgery, could they have, say, an annual lumbar tap/ drainage? Seems to me if it can continue quality of life that it should be considered.
  • How much time does it take to normalize after ETV surgery. My 28 year old son had undergone the surgery but post 1 month after surgery, he still is loosing balance while walking, this happens almost every 2 days. He also had 1 episode of seizure. Sir please please help I am very very worried and stressed out.

The video is informative and somewhat helpful. The doctors do not look very confident that the treatment will work and they both look infatuated with the moderator who looks most confident.😊 They both should put down their pens. Fiddling with their pens shows anxiety and makes me think the shunt treatment is not as effective as they are describing it to be. I think they’re probably being a little bit disingenuous and they know it.
