"Oh, your car's a manual?" "Yeah, I have the rare 5-spud."
  • @SecurityBagels
I love how they still have joe do the funny scientist when Jeremiah is literally a mechanical engineer
  • @supernovaxv
Them seriously attempting the potato shift knob hack and not realizing it was a meme is just pure gold
  • So, the flame restoration method is known as flame polishing, and it works with acetal plastics, like Delrin. It works really great with acrylic to make cut edges look like pure and clean glass.

If the jetta ever gets sold to someone that doesn't know the show, they're gonna have a ton of questions about the previous life of the car. Lmao
  • "Is someone stirring macaroni in here?" "No, that's just what good gear shifting sounds like."
  • The way you guys tend to turn the ads into skits and actually have fun with them is really cool just got to say

True story: While I was going though flight training, one of the pre-flight tests is a magneto loss test. You have two mags and swap between both and only one. Problem is the same key switch also goes all the way to ignition OFF. I was nervous the first time and gave it a little too much oomph and went right past R and L and straight to OFF. I immediately realized I screwed up and flipped it back to one of the running states and it backfired something fierce. Shook the whole plane.

I’m gonna need a bunch of tennis balls

To be fair, here in Ireland potatoes are found everywhere - including most glove compartments and sports bags.
  • @trevfas
So the hack with the plastic trim and torch. Your biggest issue is you are using MAP gas I believe which burns hotter than propane. I used to work at a plastic rotational molding company and we would use the big propane weed burning torches to bring the color out on products. The heat realigns the plastic molecules which gives it that fresh shinny look. Love the video boys! Keep em coming!
  • To get a new 1qt bottle of oil pour started… pour it sideways (front label facing towards the fill hole). This will allow 2 things: 1. The spout can get a lot closer to the hole before the oil comes out. & 2. You’ll get a nice even pour with a steady air flow (no air gulping).
  • "This car is trying to kill itself." If I were that car I would too.
  • @thedylan1956
For the black plastic that’s faded, if you melt coconut oil and use a paper towel to spread it on, it makes the plastic pretty and black for a month or so, depending on how much sun the car gets
  • @AZREDFERN
14:43 definitely works, but only on PVC plastic. The semi soft stuff used on old dirt bikes and quads. HOWEVER…. There’s a better process. Use the finest grit sand paper you can find, polish off the oxidation, and use a heat gun, which has significantly more control.
  • @greasemonkey258
James, turn the quart of oil around backwards when pouring. This will ventilate bottle and give you a smooth and consistent stream, as well as allowing you to get the spout closer to the oil fill point in most cases. -Dad
  • @idiotburns
3:43 fixed my brakes with the tennis ball hack, best tool ever
  • @1988ban
The potato hack was the most Irish thing I've seen. Always carry a spud with you. 😂
