I know that eczema can be very a personal issue, but if you want to share what’s worked for you below I would love that! ⤵️

DIET DIET DIET!!! It’s so important and no dermatologist has ever told me this!! I’ve been dealing with eczema all my life and im 29. I just found about this recently after spending so much money on all these medicines like Dupixent and steroid creams. All I did was change my diet and all my rashes are almost gone (been doing this for a month now). I went vegetarian, cut down on sugar to abare minimum and excercised alot to sweat and clean the skin. You don’t need anything else really other than a good lotion to keep your skin soft. I’ve never had so much progress in such little time and all I did was change my eating habits!!!! I encourage anybody suffering with this to try it! It will be hard to adapt to a new diet but if you can do it you can cure it!!! I hope this message gets to anybody who needs it.

Dermatologists are strangely ignorant about treatment options other than drugs. It makes me wonder what they actually teach in medical school.

No one ever talks about how serious eczema is :( thank you for sharing your story!

I've been traumatized by using steroids for all my life. Hearing a similar story really makes me feel not alone. Right now i am trying to fight my eczema, trying to make it calm without using steroids. I really hope that this year my eczema would be gone.
  • I've been struggling with eczema since I was born and I'm getting 21 in September. My parents and doctors from dozens of hospitals said that it would get better when I grow up, but sadly it didn't. Eczema had really brought some mental problems such as social anxiety as a teenager. I really hope I could get rid of eczema this year.

Rudi, for what it's worth, your advice helped turn my little boy’s life around. I took Dr. Dray’s product suggestions (because they were immediately available in my local pharmacy) and combined them with your daily routine. Within a couple of weeks, my son’s eczema had almost completely gone away. It was so bad I thought we were going to have to pull him out of sports and have to put him on steroids. His classmates had started noticing and making comments. It killed me to see him have to go through that. You’ll never fully know how much you've helped us, but you've given my child his normalcy back, and I am truly grateful. Thank you so much and God bless you.
  • I had eczema since very early childhood. At times it became almost debilitating especially when it involved both of my hands. At one point, I was referred to a dermatologist who lectured me about wasting his time with my eczema and there was nothing that he could do or prescribe. Later on, I discovered a severe allergy to eggs with increasingly more severe allergic reactions. So, I had to remove all eggs from my diet. Some months after this I realized that I had no eczema ANYWHERE for the first time in my life. I long suspected that eczema is an external reaction to something going on inside. Get tested for possible food related allergies or conduct your own elimination of possible culprits. Common food allergies are milk/dairy, wheat or gluten, eggs, nuts, seafood. Mine is eggs. Eczema-free for 15+ years now.

I healed my eczema through healing my gut , sleeping 7 hours of sleep , drinking apple cider vinegar , taking the right vitamins , not stressing so much ! For me, a balanced diet with lots of fermented veggies at first not eating gluten . I also used tea tree oil with a bit of coconut I sea salt with pepermint oil. It took me four months of trial and error , I stopped using lotion, too. At first, I was using all these products, but after 1 month of using them, it wasn't working 😕 so I bought a mugwort with pepermint salve , and it worked like magic , my cuts and the imflammation from my hands went after applying it. Whenever I had eczema, I just applied it on my . I am also mindful of what I eat
  • You never bet rid of eczema. Eczema is life long and it can “suppressed” but it can pop up at any time. The cerave itch relied cream i suggest putting in the refrigerator and when you put it on an itchy spot the cooling helps a lot also.
  • It really is crazy how we don't get anything more than a short term solution from doctors. I know I, alongside everyone else here, have had it come back again and again and have had no idea how to keep my skin happy. Thank you so much for sharing your story and your tips. <3

Gut healing is key, especially through plant based/vegan consumption. Sea salt baths will definitely help (2-3 cups). Lotions and creams mask the problem. Dermatologist can be a waste of time. Fasting can rid toxins out of the body.
  • We need more real people like you on social media to share real stories. Thanks for all the help

Hello Rudi and thank you so much for sharing your experience. I am almost 34 yo and I have been dealing with eczema since I was an infant. It got much better with puberty but I still struggle with it when stress or adverse external conditions hit me. I have been using a steroid cream since I remember and I have to say, it was very brave for you to cut it out from your life because I don't know how I could live without it. Your advice are deeply welcomed and I will consider trying to go without my usual cream.
  • I suffered from eczema as well. I changed my detergent to baby detergent or Always for sensitive skin. Switched to dove soap for sensitive skin. Then I mixed organic Shea butter, coconut and olive oil on my skin and it worked. Haven’t had a breakout in years. Also change your sheets and washcloths weekly.

I’m amazed at how relatable your journey is! I had a very similar experience with my eczema, although I think I found my methods a little earlier in life, as I’ve gotten older I’m having different types of eczema sprout in my face. I tried curology, and it helped my face for a long time, but eventually I just don’t think it’s something I need all the time once I’m healed - similar to steroid creams. I just discovered Cerave, and it is INCREDIBLE. Never going back. And boy did you call it with the hyaluronic acid! It’s in a lot of stuff, always in Cerave. Great video! Thanks for your help.

Hello- I’ve been struggling with eczema for about 10 years of my adult life (had bouts as a kid but never too bad). Ive had eczema from head to toe- literally. Ive seen multiple allergists and dermatologist and I feel like I should make my own damn video at this point lol. Anyways, here’s what generally works for me: everything free of dyes, perfumes, etc. For laundry I use arm & hammer detergent that’s free & clear (I’ve tried other brands this one is just really affordable), downy free & clear softener, up & up free & clear dryer sheets. For body care I use Cetaphil gentle soap bar and CeraVe healing ointment immediately after the shower. I have tried a slew of products but these seem to work with me. When it comes to hair care I’ve tried so many things too but currently I’m loving Garnier Fructis’ curly shampoo & conditioner. When I flare-up I use Protopic (generic version is Tacrolimus), I try stay away from steroids as much as possible but I will use on more stubborn flares- as needed. I try to manage my stress (stress can cause flares), and I try to stay away from my allergens; cats & dogs 😭 and a blue dye found in synthetic clothing 🤯, I know (disperse blue dye 106). Anyways, hopes this helps someone.
  • I really appreciate your recommendations. I have suffered from very dry skin (not eczema) since young, but did not know this until my adulthood and have had some bouts of eczema and extremely dry scalp as an adult. I have even had eczema in my ears. I now have children with varying, yet fairly mild forms of eczema that we've been able to keep under control. I have been researching and looking for something for my daughter with eczema that recurs quite regularly around her eyes and on her eyelid. When it's been bad it will break the skin, cause bleeding, spread to her mouth area, and anything you put on it will feel like and even sometimes burn the skin. There's things like aquaphor ointment that I've used on the kids other body parts with extremely dry skin or eczema that make her eyelids sore. So I thank you for the recommendation on the facial spray. I hope it will help it to not recur. A steroid cream is the only thing that helps when it flares up which is totally not a good thing to be using by the eyes. Now that her eyelid situation is under control, as soon as a spot of eczema comes back a tiny bit of steroid cream will vanish it away in one treatment and keep it at bay for weeks at a time. Other things we use are humidifiers in winter, aquaphor on hands with gloves at bedtime, aquaphor on face before going out in cold winter winds, making sure to keep the face very clean especially after windy beach trips and sand/dirt gently washed in just warm water on a washcloth, and we use Vanicream lotions which a free of all the junk. I have tried Cicaplast balm by La Roche Posay and had success with stubborn dry spots in my ears and on my neck. We also use very gentle sunblock especially on the daughter with facial eczema such as La Roche Posay Anthelios Melt in Milk. I have extremely sensitive skin and this sunblock irritates my skin very little. Usually I breakout with most sunblock use. I wish I would've understood my skin when I was a child because I think I would've had a lot less breakouts and negative reactions to treating my persistent acne as well..

ditto on everything you mentioned! thank you for making this video because it is what i’ve been dealing with for the last 5 years. i’ve had eczema since childhood, but it decided to get out of control 5 years ago! the only thing i’d add is that once you get a handle of your skin with a routine, pay attention to the different triggers that cause your skin to get dry in the first place and that’ll be when you’ll need to get ahead before the eczema flares out of control. triggers like the weather, food/skin allergies, stress, etc. my journey included learning that i’m allergic to coconut, aloe, and vitamin e, which are in about 95% of skin products. but learning to read ingredient lists has been my most recent life-saving skill. eczema survivors unite!!
