  • Have had eczema my whole life and would say that one of the biggest triggers for me besides heat and humidity levels have always been stress and mental health, its so closely connected! Also the short nails tip is awesome, I will often wake up bloody in the morning from scratching so keeping nails short really help ♥️
  • Wanted to thank you!!! Your recommendations for Laroche/Posey lotion and Cetaphil bodywash changed everything for me!!!! Eczema under control!!!! No more itching!!!! Sleep through the night!!!!
  • I suffered with eczema for YEARS. It was the worst while living in a hot and humid climate (Hawaii). I used prescription steroids and scent-free moisturizers, but they didn’t help. I found that keeping cool (A/C) and dry from sweat are what made the biggest difference. Stress also made itching worse, and keeping cool helped me relax much easier. Thank you for the information!

I had atrocious eczema as a kid and young adult. Seriously bad. I gave up sugar and it cleared up within a month. The odd time I thought I was clear to go back eating sugar it would bloom again on my skin. Overactive Candida was the root cause and sugar feeds it. I starved candida and it brought the eczema under control. Twenty years later I still rarely eat sugar but even if I do now it doesn't trigger a breakout. Hope that helps!
  • I just enjoy Dr. Shereen 's content!!.. if she was a teacher I just couldn't wait the next day to go to her class!!!.. she just makes skincare easy and fun to understand!!!

Yes... tried many of the ones you mentioned which did help.... but Aveeno eczema baby was the game changer! after 6 years of struggling... finally some relief, repair and long term results (when my skin does react) also using allergy natural products and avoiding or compensating for allergies (dust, cats, molds which get worse in the winter due to dryer air).

I am thrilled to have found your channel and look forward to learning worthwhile information about skincare! Just wanted to share my experience with my one and only flare-up of eczema at the age of 58. It was intense and scary, but I got it under control, by the grace of God. What stopped my eczema from itching and calmed the inflammation was MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) powder. I made a solution of maybe a couple of grams of MSM in a little water and dabbed it on the inflamed and itchy areas. I also took the recommended dosage internally. I had broken my skin barrier by over-scrubbing. The itching would be intolerable, but after applying MSM solution, it would stop within seconds/minutes. I also used a cream with MSM and tamanu oil. Within a few weeks of this regimen (and no scrubbing), my skin barrier was restored, and the eczema has effectively disappeared for over a year. Now, if I feel even a twinge of it, I hit it with the MSM and it doesn't progress. With regard to shea butter and products containing it, I don't feel good about it because I once bought straight shea butter and it smelled rancid as hell. From what I understand there are different grades of shea butter, and unless it's the Grade A (or triple-A, can't remember), it's going to go rancid quicker. Since I don't know what grade is used in these products that have it, I would rather avoid them. FYI: "crepey" is pronounced "CRAY-pee" (rhymes with "crazy.")

It's like you know exactly which videos I need each week! Thank you been struggling with this a lot this week
  • @worldlit1146
Dear Dr. Idriss your set-up was amazing before. Love the summer colors. And just the chatty, yet informative nature of your channel.
  • @brodd13
Was dealing with eczema for months around my eyes and mouth, and wasn't sure what was causing it. Sure enough it was my laundry detergent. Switched to one that is NEA approved and my eczema practically disappeared overnight. NEA's product finder on their website is a lifesaver!
  • @misssoandso
Dr! Whatever you were doing to record your videos before was already excellent. Honestly, I like your video quality better from before. Less is More. Your sharing of knowledge is more than enough! You're doing amazing Dr!
  • Thank you for this video. Heat is definitely my number one trigger. Meaning the start of summer, I always have to go get shots after my first summer outing. Second is animal allergies. Third is fragrance. Especially if it touches me anywhere.
  • @adrienneeee
This was one of the most helpful videos I've watched on eczema! Thank you for your product recommendations!
  • @mscopycat5137
I haven't had eczema in so long I genuinely forgot I used to have it. I'm 24 now. I had it when I was 7 years old. It's really depressing becuase I feel hopeless. This video really gives me hope. I hope I can get it under control.
  • As someone who has intense allergies and unforgiving eczema, thank you so much for this video. I have gone to dermatologists who have told me eczema 'just happens' and to moisturize. That isn't enough because not any moisturizer will do! Thank you for isolating a few common triggers and providing recommendations. I have this video as a favorite.
  • @eirura
Yay!! My skin is flaring up at the moment. Brilliant timing.
  • @leratomol
I've suffered from eczema all my life. Sometime it goes away for a year or few months. Folate helped but at some point stopped working. I've used so many things these past month even tumeric I honestly know not what else to to or use. Gets worse when I'm stressed . Thank you so much
  • THANK YOU so much, I’ve been waiting to see a video by you on eczema! I’ve had it on my fingertips for over a year and it really disrupts regular life specially as a mom. I’m excited to incorporate these tips ♥️🙌🏻
