There's a difference between equality and equity. Islam is all about equity and that's what they are trying to say but people are jumping and saying he's misogynist. It about providing the specific things to who needs it. It about completion like they said.

Ahmed stressing Louisa out to make a point is too precious💖😂 I actually had no idea that there was so much drama around what Ahmed said and I didn’t really get why coz it made sense to me. The thing with equality and treating everybody the same, is that coz everyone has unique needs, treating everyone the same is going to put some at a disadvantage. If a group of children learn best through reading and one child learns best through practical activities and the teacher just makes everyone read and expects them all to learn that way, in theory she’s treating everyone equally because they all have access to the learning but really it’s not fair for that one child coz that’s not catering to their learning style. It’s not fair to have the same expectations from everyone coz not everyone is the same/has the same skills, like you guys keep saying. Equity is the perfect word.

My mum don’t cook she don’t like it and is bad at it and loves to clean and my dad loves to cook and always cooks but hates to clean it’s just normal and works in my house growing up

Sometimes I really don't get the fuss around this whole discussion. Isn't the point that you want to do all these things and more for your husband/wife because you love them and want a happy home. Do things for your loved ones for the pleasure of Allah and you will see the barakah in your home inshAllah. This is why choosing a righteous partner is so important. Each should know the rights of the other so they may honor them (their rights are the rights of Allah because they come from Him and you will be questioned regarding them), as well as their own so that you can kindly let them know in case they're falling short in a certain area and you can work it out. Honestly I think these problems come up when people try taking their standards from the west where it's all about entitlement etc.
