  • I like that they really did get Blake Lively to voice Lady Deadpool. 😂
  • For me, Wolverine pulling up his cowl to Madonna in slow motion was the best single moment of the film. It, to me, completed Jackmans run as Wolverine. I remember watching Logan and feeling that the only thing Jackman ever missed as Wolverine, was wearing that cowl, and I found it immensely satisfying.
  • I think the brilliance of the film is how it takes unfulfilled ideas and shows us how it both works and doesn’t work. Channing Tatum as Gambit walked in a complete comic accurate outfit that didn’t seem to fit him all that well. And it makes sense. From his look, dialogue and even how he fights, Tatum gives 110% and the joke is that he’s sort of a 50/50 Gambit. On Wolverine’s cowl, it makes sense from a character standpoint. He notes that he was always hesitant to put on the suit. After the death of the X-Men, he never takes it off but never really dons his role as the Wolverine until the third act. There’s even the joke that on his big sacrifice, his shirt explodes exposing rolling muscles yet somehow the mask stays on. I think the greatest strengths of the film are the cameos, the lead’s performance and the movie’s usage of older Fox Marvel properties. The greatest weakness is that the film dates itself extremely and was made with this particular frame of time of superhero movies in mind. It makes sense that they marketed the film so much and put behind it so much cross promotion. They want audiences in theaters watching it while it has its maximum effect and full bite.
  • Channing was actually a better Gambit than I would have ever expected. His voice was great, the costume was a bit restricting though.
  • Also, the fact that Blade and Electra and the others were not just in a single throw away scene, but actually contributed to the plot was so awesome.
  • The entire story was about how the Fox cinematic universe was seizing existence, and the higher power (Disney) was selecting certain superheroes to go to another timeline (MCU). All the characters that were discarded ended up in the void, and that’s why there weren’t any MCU characters there. I absolutely love this setup.
  • I won’t lie I was not expecting to laugh as hard as I did any time Channing Tatum opened his mouth as Gambit… that was so funny! Deadpool roasting him for having a bad dialect coach sent me through the roof.😂😂
  • People cheered for Blade, but my body knows I cheered harder for Gambit.
  • When I saw in on Wednesday, the most cheered moment was when Blade appeard.
  • I thought the Blade meta-joke was supposed to be a dig at themselves for the troubled production of the new one
  • My theater screamed and applauded when blade walked out lol so cool
  • It felt like a genuine love letter to the early fox and marvel films. The behind the scenes clips over the credits was a lovely touch. Got me right in the feels.
  • My crowd erupted when Wesley Snipes walked on the screen
  • Channing Tatum is the king of unexpected and unexpectedly hilarious cameos. Needs to do more comedies. The ‘flame on’ scene got a big pop. Cavill and Blade round out the big 3, besides Deadpool and wolverine of course.
  • When Blade appeared in my theater, the crowd exploded. Hope that makes you feel better Dan.
  • My favorite Dogpool moment, by far, was Logan using her as a ceasefire tool.
  • My crowd was very tame too. I was expecting cheers and applause, but it was very mellow. I actually liked X-23, and felt it brought her back in a way her character can continue as that character in the MCU.
