How to 3D Sculpt Paint and Render NEW Color Attributes in Blender 3.2+
You can paint amazing art to 3D objects using this workflow.
I recommend to really try out different brush settings when you paint.

PART II: Convert 3D Painting to Image Texture (good for exporting outside blender)
   • Bake 3D Sculpt PAINTING to Image Text...

This new color attribute system replaces the old vertex colors.
There is still a Vertex Paint mode, but who knows what's going to happen to it.

Sculpt mode has better tools to combine drawing and sculpting 3D stuff in my opinion.

IF you know a trick on how to paint smoother edges using textures, please comment down below!
- I got better results when using Textures when I used remeshed the object with super dense settings (shift+r to adjust & ctrl+R to remesh) = still not perfect and takes a lot of resources.

I opened a tutorial by someone else -- it was two minutes of introduction, a plug for a drawing tablet with their affiliate link for about another minute, before finally starts talking about painting (as slowly as humanly possible and he skipped basic steps). I closed that guy's tutorial and vowed to never go back. I opened three more videos and decided to watch your video first as it was the only one under 10 minutes. Aaaaaaaaaaaand subscribed! Thank you!

I've sent so many videos trying to find something about the new paint mode and this video did it the absolute best!
  • Thank you for the extremely useful short recaps Dantti!!! I love to watch your channel lately when I'm missing blender. Hopefully I'll get some free time to try out the new features!

So short but so good, did not know about the masking and how to change the brush type

    Never seizes to amaze me👍👍👍

thank you so damn much. This is straight to the point I was kinda struggling with the shortcuts since sculpt paint is different from texture paint. 😊 when using the blur it's really sensitive And when you go to the active tool on the right > brush settings > color picker > color and chose gradient Nothing happens in sculpt paint but in texture paint it works like a charm.

Question on set-up for painting; I'm using the "Studio" Matcap for the Viewport shading, and it seems to be taking in the lighting information when I color pick off of the model. Am I doing it wrong by using the matcap since the shader has lighting incorporated into it? And is there a proper way to set up this new take on vertex painting, like a specific material setup, or should I properly hook up the node setup like depicted to work in rendered view?
  • I have a question. How do you export the painted material to unity? couse i've been trying to do so, but materials seems not to render the painting but only the flat color of it instead. Nice video btw!

Do you know how it works with face sets? One I initialize face sets and choose a color brush, the color doesn't show in the sculpt viewport, just the face set assigned color.
