Kind of a bummer we never got to see the 90's Rockets vs the 90's Bulls in an NBA Finals.

Yes more NBA on NBC games with the extended intro please! Hopefully you have more from the 1993-94 & 1994-95 seasons!

A Suns vs Rockets Western Conference Finals would have been an absolute blast to watch. Two 3 point shooting teams led by dominant low post players. They both spilt the season series at 2 games a piece. Hakeem did pretty much everything he could during this game. I still blame Kenny Smith for missing that 3 point shot.

Its sickening to watch this, knowing it should have been the rockets to beat these sonics to go to the NBA Finals vs the bulls.

I swear, the way hakeem use to time his blocks and stay in the air it was almost a cheat code
  • luved this rivalry. The Sonics had the Rockets number during this time period for some reason. I wished they woulda met in the 94 & 95 playoffs cuz Houston was on another level then, so it woulda been interesting to see if they could get over the hump

This intro and music is ridiculously good. Maybe it’s the sentimentality but I also think it was just such a better brand or basketball competition.

It’s one thing reading past Playoff stories into watching it decades later (thanks, YouTube and MDBBall). I didn’t knew how close this series was. If only Houston was able to get out from this series then Phoenix, it’ll be an interesting Bulls-Rockets series. Too bad it didn’t happen. MJGOAT will not run out of motivation as usual, facing the franchise that didn’t draft him 1st overall. Interestingly, Bulls beat Portland the previous Finals. Portland blew the chance taking him as 2nd overall.

I went to a ton of Sonics games in the 90's, Hakeem impressed me the most of all the players I saw live. I remember thinking "that guy is 7 feet tall but moves like a guard". He was so quick...... An I loved this old building, the scoreboard sucked but I liked it with no advertising banners an suites. It was just court, people an roof. It looked really cool in there when it was packed with fans. Metallica filmed Binge & Purge in that building in 89, best crowd I've ever been around. We were so rowdy that night. That building now is so nice, so nice we might get the Sonics back if the league expands again. They redid that building again to get the Kraken an it's really beautiful now.

There's a very good chance Houston wins the 1993 NBA title if they had won game 7 in Seattle considering how well they matched up with the Barkley era Suns and the 1st 3-peat era Bulls.

I dont know why the rockets did not beat the mavericks in the final game of the regular season to get homecourt advantage in this series.

wow hakeem.. he plays like the goat here. complete control of the offence and defence , blocks , steals, rebounds ,assists, soft jumpers, mj has nothing on him sorry
  • I know I ask for too much but can I get a couple good highlights from Shaq's MVP season I surprisingly don't see that many from him it's crazy man 😢
