In This video I show you how to put the motor and transmission back in the Suburban. It is time to see if the vvt and dod delete are going to work. We spent a lot of time putting this engine together and in this video we install several more new parts. A new water pump, Longtube headers, New intake gaskets, new spark plugs, etc. Lots of new stuff has went on this little 5.3. It is time to see if it will fire up. After getting the engine in with new mounts we double check all of our connections to make sure all is good. This is really not a bad job but is time consuming and does take a few extra tools to get it accomplished. I still think I like to work on the motors out of the vehicles. It makes it so much easier to clean parts and install without bending over the fender. We have more to come on this install but wanted to hear it run for the installation video. Great job man, I’m excited for you! My 12 burban has the heads at the machine shop and my 5.3 motor is in 100’s of pieces like yours was. Your build makes me wanna get mine done!! Stage 2 tsp cam and long tube headers. I’ll be waiting to see how your tune goes.

Your goals for your truck are exactly what I’m trying to achieve in my 2012 gmc sierra. I picked up my truck 2 years ago and thought I was getting a dependable truck. Based on the history I had with my 2004 gmc Sierra I had no idea GM started doing AFM DOD on the newer models. Well now I know and have been seriously stressing about it. Currently my pickup has no issues at all run great. But from everything I have read and watched on YouTube about these trucks. A collapsed lifter is bound to happen eventually. And all I want is a dependable truck. When I picked it up it only had 97k on it and I probably way over paid for it to begin with. But it was clean and i couldn’t find anything else at that time 2021 right in the middle of Covid.

Glad everything worked on the engine and transmission! Does the engine oil cooler block off plate gasket go on facing a certain way? Ordered the same one and a oil pan gasket a while back, waiting for the weather to cool off before I tackle the job its a 4wd also. ✌🏻

How did the tune turn out? I did DOD and VVT delete and had it tuned. Still runs like crap. And has shutting misfire at idle. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I always wonder what type of work you had but now I’m pretty sure your a dealer mechanic because a regular average joe with some mechanic skills wouldn’t be able to program or flash pcm computer or delete programs
