When this thing first came out, I loved it, but now that the hype has worn off, it’s genuinely hard for me to get excited about a $95,000+ truck — regardless of what powers it. Same thoughts on the TRX and Raptor R. If you’re not making $250k+ you have no business owning one of these, and that’s 97% of the US population.

The most underrated truck channel on YouTube. Everybody should be watching and subscribing to your videos. Simply the best content and in-depth product reviews period. With all of it shortcomings, We still have to applaud Ford for coming out with this pick up and Letting everyone make the decision whether it's for them or not. We know that the infrastructure and limitations of this vehicle are still being worked out, but I think that having it out there to begin with is a step in the right direction.

I've currently got a Ram with a V8 Hemi which was about $55K, and I commute to work about one hour each way. It's rough on gas, but I will take that all day over a $110K price tag, and the constant uncertainty of charging stations.

I would never buy one! They’re way too expensive and they’re already having problems with them. That skid plate design is just terrible. It’s awesome how you showed us that. I’m only 37, but all that nonsense with charging it would drive me crazy. I completely agree with your dad. And the charging stations have zero amenities... no bathrooms, no squeegee, no garbage cans, no food or drinks, and no protection from the weather. I’ll stick with my Duramax, thank you. I have about 650 miles of range, takes 5 minutes to fill up, and have all the conveniences that any gas station offers.

another great and fun to watch review. As an ex-Tesla owner (for off-road reasons) I once made a 6,100 mile (9,800 km) trip in mine. Rarely did I ever charge above 80% as the charge rate drops off a cliff after 80% and it takes way to long for that last 10%. You will get to where you want to go a lot faster charging to 80% then someone charging to 90%. Another consideration is the larger the battery pack, the longer it takes to charge. I look forward to more of your reviews.
  • Excellent review - I agree with all of your findings. This truck is great for around town & very light trailering, but it’s in no way ready for the open road with a trailer.
  • Stephen, Since many pickups are becoming luxury cars, it is about time they all get independent rear suspension like this Lightning.
  • The initial sticker price is the hard pass for me it’s just not viable when even the xlt trim gets so close to a hundred grand with extended range. Not to mention in Canada the extended range power plant should be named the only acceptable range since once temperatures drop the smaller plant won’t keep up. None of the EV companies seem viable at the price premiums they’re demanding except maybe the Chevy bolt which I just don’t want anyway.

Until technology progresses these electric vehicles are just a toy novelty and an expensive one at that. In northern Ontario where large cities are 200 to 450 miles apart you need hybrids. I have a Sierra and a Rav 4 hybrid. We only drive the Sierra occasionally when towing. I think the hybrid which we've had a few since 2014 are the answer at this time.

I'm glad you're getting the recognition you deserve. Keep up the good work.
  • Loved the truck ramp. Besides you guys only doing this view, it showed me another possible shortcoming of the Lightening. Keep up the good work
  • Another fantastic objective review the 150 Lightning and view of the current state of public chargers. Well done!

Love your channel. Down to earth and real people reviews. You guys are so underrated!
  • @ebnhahn1993
Great review!, I agree with your gripes and Yes, Charging stations should follow the same format as gas stations from layout and design point of view. Currently chargers are being designed and distributed by companies who do not have the experience of Gas station companies (BP, Petro Canada, Flying J, Travel America...)
  • 14:11. LOLOLOLOL All day long. You made my day!!!! I bet with some luck an hour at the most
  • @Sampson_503
It’s good for a city boy not for a country boy.
  • Great job guys. Plenty of things are not for me and the list seems to be growing every year. Take care, and Howard, enjoy your vacation.

I am really concerned about the salt causing problems with the electrical connection's.

Outstanding review, I liked getting so many of the vehicle traits in one video. I really agree with your Dad's views at the end. I think I am a good bit older than your Dad. I do not like using aps. It took me several years to get used to using credit cards. I also liked the way you presented specs and pricing. I was able to pause and take my time to review. I reserved a Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 but really doubting I'll take it.

Thanks for the review, you guys make some great points at the end, your not just blindly slurping this thing like some have. The truth is there’s still details regarding the infrastructure that needs to be figured out.
