I really love how you change the background accordingly to the theme of the video
  • "Reduce the amounts of sugars so that your brain will be healthier in the future". I agree that we should eat less of the processed "fast" sugar but it's to protect your pancreas, liver and prevent obesity, the brain on the other hand lives almost only on sugar metabolism, it's really the one organ that desperately needs sugar the most in order to survive. But I guess chiropractors don't get metabolic biochemistry classes...
  • @AtheistRex
Do NOT get me started on chiropractors...again!
  • (I'm aware this probably has nothing to do with the topic at hand, but it's still something I wanna mention.) I feel very sorry for his bookshelves/bookcases. They're living under a roof of a misguided individual and they might be cluttered with books full of misinformed and misguided information.
  • 4:22 "The other thing aspartame does is to affect 'part of our brain, or reward center'. 'We don't feel satisfied' [after consumption] and experience an increased craving 'for sweets [and] food' ". Sounds to me that such an experience could more readily be attributed to the apparent lack of sugars in your body (after "tricking" your brain into thinking you were consuming sugary food), rather than the ingestion of aspartame. You could even test this by preforming trials with different types of sugars and artificial sweeteners; and - of course - a control group who gets neither (haha, suckers).
  • Oh my dearly loved science! This dimwit's office is only 6 hours from me! "O_o"
  • Keep being awesome good sir. :) PS sorry for the smiley face emoticon

The FECK is low thyroid, and why the hell is it clogging my suggestion sidebar? Hey, hey Google! Did you pull more videos out of your ass? Goooooogleeeee, drop it. Drop the videos Google! Bad, bad search engine!
  • @TheElectricHobo
hey microblogganism, I just wanna say that your videos are really amazing. I know very little on most of the advanced aspects of science so to hear someone really explain how much bullshit there is out there is extremely valuable. you're like the armoured skeptic of science; bringing explanations of the useless crap on the internet and more importantly providing a good starting point for people to further their understanding of the world. I hope you keep making these for a long time, cuz I am always excitedly waiting for the next one. Thanks man... er... weird brain blob creature! :)

Yeah, right. I am on a low carb diet for just about two year now, and my body has to deal with a LOT of artifical sweeteners. The worst effect they can have as far as my experience and research goes when used as a part of everyday diet, is to cause diarrhea when you digest to much of it. That's horrible. Better eat sugar which is something cancer actually can feed of... Right? Just on an aside, amazing videos you make here. I will keep watching whenever you put out something new, I really enjoy them :)

Man, thanks for making this channel. I only recently realized I needed a channel that puts the smackdown on the new-age homeopathic bullshit. Half of my family is into this crap and it takes every fiber of my being to not ruin whatever holiday they're visiting on. The thing that fucks with me is my uncle got pissed at my aunt for trusting the homeopathic medicine... AND HE HAS BEEN, AND STILL IS, GOING TO A CHIROPRACTOR REGULARLY. I mean the guy has had so many back problems over my life he's gone from walking poorly, to walking with a cane, to using a walker, and now he's in an automated wheelchair. He's around my dads age and his back is that messed up, and he keeps going to a chiropractor even though it's clearly done nothing for him.

But but but... whaaah, CHEMICALS!!! The only thing I really don't like about artificial sweeteners is the taste. I can't help it, but there's always this weird, yucky flavor in every diet product. I'm still waiting for soda producers to come up with drinks that contain about 10% of the sugar and no artificial sweeteners. That would be awesome. I hate that enamel-cracking sweetness of "normal" sodas. I hear you're putting the brake on it a little more - thank you for that :-)
  • @Dabordi
I've been overwhelmingly drinking something sweetened with aspartame (at technically half the density one is supposed to have, it's way too strong otherwise) for the last couple years. I still like the taste - it pretty much replaced Snapple and such for me, and now, when I try the sweet stuff I used to drink, it feels like a bit much for me. shrug It's a taste.
  • Also is it just me or does the microblob logo look like a funko pop figurine head but for an alien?
