This time we play a game of bingo and take a look at the entirely uncontroversial topic of GMOs! What could possibly go wrong?

Cocaine, herpes and botulism... "Tuesday". Classic.

I've always wanted to be able to ask random, unqualified idiots questions! The internet truly is amazing.
  • @CoolHardLogic
Who should I turn to for advice on GM foods? Oh! I know! Some random woman on the internet who doesn't work in the field and apparently gets her information from any of a plethora of hippy webshites. She seems to have had some medical issues which account for her attachment to dealing with inflammation, and seems well-meaning. Sadly she seems to be trying to make money out of offering advice to others which wouldn't be a bad thing per se if she had something more than her personal experience of dealing with her issues, and a bunch of crap she probably sources from the aforementioned hippy webshites.

Actual biochemist with an actual degree in actual chemistry here with a throwdown for the woo-woos: Define "natural." That's it. Define that little weasel word for us so we all get the idea about what you mean. That chair isn't natural, and I would bet $2.00 USD and a Snickers bar the fibers in those clothes aren't either. I'm pretty sure that cheap ass necklace is acrylic resin or plastic, so please, define "natural" for us. By the way, EVERYTHING you eat, be it meat, vegetation/fruits, grains, etc., has been genetically modified. EVERY-FUCKING-THING. Period. That sumptuous banana? Modified to become the cavendish. Those luscious, organic tomatoes? A domesticated version of poisonous nightshade. Bacon, that divine food of the gods? We domesticated the pigs. Wild boar is too lean for that sort of thing. TVP for all you vegans? Yeah, that glycine max is domesticated and 90% of it in the US has the gene that makes it immune to glyphosate. EVERYTHING is modified, so get over it and STFU.

Great video:) I have to say, there's a lot of misinformation being spread through those food vlogs, I'm glad that you're able to debunk it
  • @SallinKari
Don't these people realize that if your body doesn't see GMO as food... if you ate only GMO you'd literally starve... Which doesn't happen.
  • @tildessmoo
"So, if it says, 'conventionally grown...' that means it's genetically modified, or it uses pesticides that add a whole other layer of issues." Or, you know, the farmer didn't feel like shelling out for one of those fancy organic certifications. Like a lot of other labeling rules, you're not allowed to put "organic" on a food label without someone coming by and ensuring that you're actually using organic methods, and that costs money. (At least in the US.) There are a few certifying organizations out there, and the price is partly dependent on the size of your facility (someone's got to actually come out and inspect the place, after all), but prices for small farms seem to be in the 500-1500 USD range. (Initial cost. Recertification is generally cheaper.) Which is a LOT for a small farmer thinking of taking on a risky new venture such as branching out into organic.
  • Toxins, you know - like that awful DHMO...... MY intelligent body can't handle all that INFORMATION so if all of my food isn't made of organic kale I get a inflammatory reaction that can only be stopped by a week long diet of very expensive detox products and sleeping with a magnetic pillow!
  • @DigGil3
And don't forget to take those definitely non-acidic veggies too!
  • @krysher6
I would say that she needs to look up 'Organic' because I don't think it means what she thinks it means.
  • @RM18CPR
When someone tells me they're against GMOs, I usually ask, "What specific trait are you against and why?" That tends to stop the conversation pretty quickly.
  • @TheElectricHobo
nice to see a new video, man!! great stuff. always love seeing your content. :)
  • @azzahnoble
Dude, you continue to surprise me with your attention to detail. You got the grain of the wood behind the bingo card consistent between the two camera angles and, even though I've seen all your videos, I just noticed you have optic nerves! Amazing attention to detai- wait a sec... you spelt 'official' wrong on the card. Disregard everything I just sed. Oh yeah, love the new intro and I ADORE party-micro!
  • It's awesome to see a video from you. It's been a while. I also notice you are close to hitting 2000 subs. Congrats in advance :)
  • @AtheistRex
Were those natural pearls do you think?
  • @professorstick
Thanks for helping the world clear up some misinformation on this topic. I was planning to do something on GMOs for my own channel, but I have quite a few other videos I plan to get to first. Anyway, great video, and I will be subbing.
