there is 50% off the South Atlantic terrain which is fully being supported
  • ED has failed to learn the business principle of under-promising and over-delivering. With that said, I'm not too worried.
  • @OrionRox
Launching Chinook without a cargo system and corresponding ground handling is like launching F18 without any missiles.

Good video Prickly! As a customer, I don't care who is to blame I only care that folks can use the module that they paid for, that's all that matters. This may be a very western perspective but ED isn't our friend, it's a business that exists only to make money, they don't need defending from fellow customers. I for one think the modules shouldn't be sold or have a clear disclaimer that the future of the module is uncertain, in my mind it makes both ED and Razbam look bad, but moreso ED since they are the store front.

VR is now the only way to play for me, admittedly its been a bit janky historically but now its finally up to a good standard

My opinion on ED vs Razbam drama: It doesn't matter who did what to whom. The damage is done. It costs a lot of money to fund the development of complicated modern aircrafts, and the early access helps the teams in funding the entire projects. And the whole system is based on the customer's trust that they will get a product in the end. But now that trust has been destroyed (at least for me). Next time I will be very very careful about buying modules in early access. And if more people do it same as me, it can be a big problem for developers to fund challenging projects like modern aircrafts or for ED to maintain and develop DCS world. Which may lead to the destruction of the whole DCS ecosystem.

ED kind of operates like an old school defense contractor. They are constantly in experimental and development mode and there will always be unforseen delays. Unless they really drop the ball, you'll just have to get over it.

The ED/Razbam issue and KSP2 mess have caused me to rethink jumping in with more money.

The true shame of the razbam situation is they are actually quite prolific as far as 3rd parties go with 4 modules and the MiG23 in development. They also have the F8 Crusader they've produced for a previous game so if they were to turn their hand to that, they wouldn't be starting from zero.

Winwing also revealed a FFB base. Certainly nice to see
  • @slabbrato
I remember a time when video games came out when they were finished and there were no pre-orders, early access or addons. And I felt like my money was well spent...

Normally wags would have started a tutorial series during the preorder. Im a little surprised we haven’t seen any.

These videos are a great format. Good to keep up with what's going on (plus getting a balanced view on the whole RB debacle).

Well done and really good coverage. I did really look forward to getting into the cockpit of the Chinook and do some flying in Halfghanistan, but another week to work out the kinks is totally worth it!!! looking for more details this weekend from Las Vegas and the Flight Sim Expo on the Moza base as well! Enjoy the rest of the weekend and catch you next week. Sláinte!

I spent a few years as the communications officer for a large, often-fractious group of very smart, very opinionated professionals in a technical field. One thing I learned is that not providing information (even if done for very sound, sensible reasons and/or strict instructions from Legal) comes with a significant cost in rumour control. Even demonstrably false ideas can become imbedded to the point where they are difficult if not impossible to counter. And the longer that people remain starved for information, the worse things tend to get.
  • @moiluck
Those SA images are looking great. Hopefully we can get that level of detail to the whole terrain which is an amazing part of the world. About ED and Razban issues, I can suspect what problems are really related, and I can understand that kind of issues will happen with this particular products due to the great complexity, cost and small business niche when some products are not working as well as expected. Hopefully they will get an agreement for the good of dcs future. Good info here. Well done!

EAPS is the engine air particle seperator. Basically a big ass filter for the front of the engine

Still not buying any DCS product until Razbam situation finished. I was planning on getting Chinook, Afghanistan map and Kiowa. That is 100% on hold. I own every single module of DCS except those.
