Best one was the first global go fest. Every Legendary Pokemon rotating in gyms every hour. Nothing has topped that since.
  • As a free to play player, this event was so difficult to prepare for. I had 17 raid passes leftover on Sunday and BARELY got enough energy to fuse two Necrozmas. Requiring players to use nearly 20 raid passes to fully experience an event is ridiculous.
  • Beast balls made it seem it was all about raids since it was quick to catch. But I’ve been to in person events and it’s always about the raids. The spawns could have been better tho.
  • Dude the only boost they gave us was unlimited REMOTE raids.. that used to be NORMAL
  • This didn't feel like Go Fest. It just felt like a 2 day raid day
  • Beast balls made raiding an incredible experience. Would love if they stayed permanently
  • Honestly, biggest tip for you would be to stop going to all of the in person events. Like you said, you went to all 3 and got everything you could possibly want. The global isn’t for streamers who go to all 3. It’s for everyone that can’t afford to travel to play all the in person events. Personally I went to NYC and had a blast, but seeing the spawns like tyrunt, rattata, ducklett, and amaura were kinda trash. But all of my friends that didn’t go to NYC were able to get them. So I think it comes down to either not playing global, or don’t do all of the in person events. If we keep asking for more and more this game will die in a year or 2. Once they run out of stuff to release or feature it’s over.
  • I imagine that Niantic designed it for the 99.999% of people who aren't flying around the world getting two weeks of a two day event. I played six hours each day, got more than my fill of it, and left pretty happy. If I had the opportunity to hit all three cities, I'd have been out hunting regionals as much as anything.
  • 3:40 Dax I believe what you’re referring to is a “compliment sandwich” where you say something positive, something negative, and then end with a positive.
  • I think the purposes of Global Go Fest were met this year. I was actually able to see a group of real people in my rural community be able to get together and many of them had missed most of the CDs and other things. Global go Fest is meant for rural communities more so than any other event. But having to do SO MANY raids to fuse both forms beyond the free passes they gave with the ticket was extremely disappointing. My only complaint about the featured spawns was that it had far too many regularly high spawning non event pokemon. Yungoos and Pidgey? Come on. I'm fine with the old comm day spawns. It made our community so excited. I personally skipped most of those, but they were a huge hit.
  • Inevitably every big event has become a raid-centric event. If you cannot make peace with paying to raid, it is almost impossible to participate meaningfully.
  • I think it’s tickets for me. Too many tickets. Whether in person or global, it’s just costing too much. The one year go fest was $5 was incredible and they probably got sooooo many more people to play. $20 is insane. And then if you wanna raid, ticket. If you wanna hatch eggs, ticket. It’s just getting excessive. And this is coming from someone who loves this game and plays daily.
  • Overall, worst for sure. Saturday ultra beasts were cool, but Sunday was pure money maker for Niantic. Not fun at all.
  • @slaystinn
My only complaint is the fusion energy gained each raid, and it's not about how to take down the raid boss the fastest to get more fusion energy. It's just varies from 80 to 120, which is very annoying. It's very time-consuming, and it's difficult to get both Dawn Wings and Dusk Mane. I managed to get both of them, luckily, but still, it's very irritating and exhausting.
  • So my random observations from 2024 GO Fest: -Shiny odds for Necrozma felt like they were abysmal. I did close to 40 raids and it wasn't until #35 that I got a shiny. It did take a long time to gather the energy required to fuse. AND then it feels like the bonus effects for Fused Necrozma are kinda lame. -I drove some players around and it felt like the game rewarded players more shiny pokemon for distance traveled. This also seems like a good strategy in general because more moving = more spawns to check = more shiny pokemon. -The party rewards were ALL Pikachus. It would have been nice if they would have dropped some regional shiny pokemon in there to award players that played with friends and that continued with friends. -The ability to do up to 6 special trades were AWESOME. This should be implemented in future events. Maybe even increase the amount to 8. -No rotoms was a bummer. -Beast balls were amazing, and the fact that you could excellent throw Necrozma close to every time was awesome! -I didn't see any special eevees. -On Day 2, we didn't see as many rare spawns compared to Day 1 and the rotating habitats. -Having more timed research would have been fun to complete as there was basically nothing after the first hour of day 1. -I caught close to 1400 pokemon on both days combined and not a single 98% or hundo. -I got a total of 22 shinies (12 day 1, 10 day 2) -Raids repopulated very fast which was great! Was it fun? Yeah. Do I regret spending money on the ticket? Maybe a little. Did Niantic get rich in a single weekend. Heck yeah they did.
  • @Mia-QATAR
Mate I paid for the ticket and played 6 to 7 hours each day and only got 1 shiny and no hundos this go fest was trash.
  • @stra2g
This GoFest felt too convoluted for what it was. 1. Necrozma + solar energy + cosmog + research to get both was insanely annoying compared to last year's simplicity. 2. Exp, stardust, etc... bonuses were only day 1 3. Shiny rates felt way lower than last year. (Got 66 last year and 21 this year) 4. Pokemon go is about catching pokemon and yet day 2 really doesn't really reward the downtime between raids at all. 5. Field research was insanely annoying: WHY IN THE WORLD would you add field research that asks you to FINISH FIELD RESEARCH!?!?!? it just eats space. 6. GoFest ticket holders were not given the proper amount of raid passes to complete the event research.
  • I really miss unannounced surprises like meltan's release or the first time sunglasses squirtle popped up.
  • @faust5894
The sheer amount of raids required to get ultra necrozma was insane. My wife and I play a lot together but we both said we hope it isn’t even close to this next year. It was miserable trying to run down to raids for four hours just to get the energy required for fusions.
  • I am a free to play player, I had 5 raid passes for the whole weekend, I think they should have put atleast 200 energy per raid. You basically have to pay to play.
