AE86 Castelloli - Tire Test: Kumho

Back in July 2017, probably the last time I was able to drive the car flat out, I went to a TrackRat trackday event with two sets of tires to set a comparison between the Kumho Ecsta V70 (currently discontinued) and the Zestino Gredge 07RS.


This is the first proper run with the Kumhos, and as you will see, I'm a bit all over the place. I'll be a tad quicker on these tires, but quite more erratic and sliding here and there.



It didn't help the tires were six years old and had a few laps under them at SPA and the Nurburgring!


Either way, I hope the footage with the camera pointed at the wheel as well, will be of interest.


In the next video I'll put the Zestinos and share a few lines here comparing them for the few of you that care to read these descriptions!

  • Sinceramente, ver esos Porsche, esos BMW y de más... No transmiten nada, lo hacen todo perfecto, son cohetes, no bloquean en las frenadas, no fallan cambios, no intentan sacarte de la pista a cada curva, en definitiva, por mucho que mirando el crono sean más rapidos, no creo que te saquen las sonrisas que seguro te sacará ese AE86. Me alegra ver como cuando la pista deja de ser recta ese hierro se acerca a esos cohetes mientras va de lado, gracias.
