Played today with a buddy, I shot 89. This guy's advice is as relatable as it gets. I'm a casual golfer, really value his takes on the stuff I see out playing.

Broke a 100 for the first time with a 99 several weeks back after watching Matt’s how to break a 100 series. Since then, four more 99’s. The foursome I now play with several times a week actually commented after my third shot on a long Par 4. Instead of going for the green, I picked an Iron that I absolutely knew would not reach the two bunkers on either side of the front of the green even with the best possible contact. Left the ball 5 feet from the right front bunker. Low loft chipped with my 9 iron about 18 feet up to about 3 1/5 feet from the hole (lucky shot for me). And sank the putt for a Bogey. Nobody else played the hole that way. They all went for the green in 3. Two in bunkers, and one off the back of the green. They thought I was crazy for not going for the green. But I took my Bogey like a Baus ! The way of the Playa is for real Gents It ain’t fancy, but it works 👊

Shot 85 a few weeks ago, so much of that day can be attributed to this mans course management. Legit golf sidekick.

I took my driver out of my bag and I've been playing with my hybrid 2 off the tee. It goes around 200-230 but I hit 40-50% of fairways with it. I've been rocking my bucket hat as well. I've completely embraced the way of the playa and my scores have dropped significantly and consistently. Thanks for everything, Matty Boom-Boom

I’ve broken 90 more times than I can count using the player in chief’s strategies. I still watch the vids for reinforcement and am getting closer to breaking 80. This stuff works!
  • @AmosEstes
Hey playa what range finder are you using? I’m not sure you said 😅

Best content on Youtube. 89 today, handicap has dropped to 20, regularly shooting between 85 and 95 now, trending down, majority of which is attributed to this channel with secondary kudos to a putter fitting, a driver fitting, and buying the Flightscope and The Stack combo.

Could break 90 when I was younger but didn’t play as much for a few years. Shot 92 yesterday and I’ve never approached golf like i did after watching your videos! Did not try to be a hero and hit shots I knew I could. I really appreciate how you break it down. I’m confident with my mindset I’ll be in mid to low 80s soon enough!

'Strike is correlated to score, distance is not correlated to score'. Brilliant statement. 👏. That's why I m changing my play strategy towards the one presented here. 🙏. It means in narrower fairways I will hit less with the driver. I trust my 7 wood much more, and distance from tii are long enough. I have also dropped 3 wood now on my club selection. Sometimes can use it on broad fairways on par 5, if the lie is good. My iron game is pretty solid, so in order to play under 90, that has to be very solid. Of course putting solves the ultimate score. If too many 3 puts, then hard to get under 90.

The Baus brings out top quality content on a consistent and frequent basis. As Garry Playa says 'Release content to get garden hose' The Baus has a FANTASTIC attitude to golf for c. 90 players. 1. Enjoy the game. 2. Don't put pressure on yourself. 3. Add 1 stroke to each hole for 'par'. 4. Practice sensible coursw management. 5. Practice short game particularly chipping and putting. 6. Know YOUR distances. 7. Be a playa!

I have played ten rounds since I started watching your videos. They have been the best, and most enjoyable rounds I’ve played in the last 20 years. Somehow you managed to rearrange my head and my attitude so I’m hitting more good shots that are actually within my skill-set. Golf is fun again! Thanks!

Another great video on how to think through golf. Thanks Golf Sidekick! Yours confidentially, Aidan
  • What's with the Brave heart face Matty as the video goes on 😂

I can't stress enough the "toe down chipping". I'm 49 yrs old and currently a 4.2 handicap. At my peak around age 35 I was a +1. I've been using that chipping style since the mid 1990s. Learned it watching my favorite PGA pro. Some guy named Payne Stewart. Older people on here might remember him. You can even use it for longer shots if, for instance, you're 70 yds out but have a tree in front of you where the only options are punch out back in the fairway or go under the branches of the tree meaning you have to keep the shot low. Use a 6 iron and hit a toe down chip treating it like a 200 ft putt. Takes some practice but I get out of a lot of jams that way.

On the cusp of breaking 90 since embracing the way of the playa - this video might just get me across the line - great video Baus

Last 2 rounds were 91 and 90. Matty's advice is way more valuable than any other youtube golf channel. I've always been high 90s or low 100s. Managing the course and playing confidential shots is a huge difference.
  • @CaliGQ_
Your email at the end😂😂😂. Excellent course management!
  • @DonAl9114
Hello Matt. Your advice on how to play on the course works 100 %. I played yesterday and kept your rules mind. The Waddaplayer can change a golfers life. Thank you so much. 😊😊😊😊🙏🏻👊🏻
  • MATTY BOOM BOOM THANK YOU! Because of you, my course management and confidentiality was off the FUCKING RICHTER! broke my PB and shot an 82. Could have been a 78-79 without my only blow up on 17. Chasing the dragon now, coming for the 70's!
