  • The thing I find most interesting about the Moon is that it appears the same size as the Sun. It's nearly EXACTLY 400 times smaller than the Sun, and almost EXACTLY 400 times closer to Earth than the Sun. Making it appear the same EXACT size in the sky. This is demonstrated by the eclipse, where the Moon perfectly blocks the Sun. Very odd.
  • If this explanation was the best I could come up with, I would have definitely kept it a secret.

Pretty sure the fact that Moon it tidally-locked with the Earth had something to do with the crust being thicker on one side. One side kept eating asteroids and the like, which means more material and a thicker crust on the long run.

So in other words, they have no idea 😂😂

... The moon has a thicc backside I regret this joke heavily.

Quite fascinating - there’s so much we don’t know and may never will.
  • @ryublueblanka
The explanations that science are using to explain the unknown are pretty insane

Guy maybe the lava that seeped out of the near side was being forced (pulled) out by earths gravity.
  • @GP-yc2it
Seems reasonable that the molten (heavier) iron core was pulled towards Earth, leaving a thicker rock crust on the dark side. This would also explain greater lava leakage on the near side AND the geosynchronous rotation.

I had no idea that imagination is also considered science :)

The funny thing about modern science is that it tries to explain in details without any real information.
  • @DDay-vv9ec
Or maybe the gravity of the earth pulling on the magnetic composition of the Laval has left the far side of the moon thicker.
  • @j.s.9861
Did scientists in NASA reveal how they measured the 30 mile thick crust on the dark side?
  • @hongry-life
We have the dark side of the moon when it's New Moon.
