Riding An Aventon Adventure 2 Fat Tire Ebike After A Snowstorm

Published 2024-02-28
We received about 6 inches of snow in just a few hours, and I was headed over to my friends house, so I had a great opportunity to see how well the bike handled on Pittsburgh winter roads. The whole reason I bought a fat tire bike was for such conditions, and I was very, very impressed with the results. I didn't slide once. Now, you may notice I'm not exactly following all the traffic laws in this video, which I normally do... I blew through some stop lights and signs. Im not the typical bike rider who doesn't think traffic laws apply to him. That night, however, It was FREEZING outside, and I left all my cold weather gear at work...so I just wanted to get to where I was going as soon as possible. Anyways, if you're thinking about buying one of these bikes and were wondering how they handle in bad conditions, watch how easily it rides on the very snowy roads. (I'm not paid by Aventon, btw. Im uploading this purely because I was so impressed with how well the ride went) I recorded it with a handlebar mounted Akaso 7000 camera. It was in a waterproof case, hence the muffled sound. oh, and the date and time is off too.

I do want to point out that while the bike is manufactured to be water resistant, I put weather stripping around the battery for added protection. Also, I put silicone gasket sealer on every part that has wires going into the bike frame. I have ridden the bike in an absolute downpour of rain many times, too, and I've never had an issue.
