Just got my 972X1 yesterday. Love it already. Fits stihl combi attachments too! Just have to take out plastic piece on the stihl attachment to fit it into the dewalt then replace it once your done. Saves my back and hands compared to my km130 won't be pulling the 130 out any more unless I have to.😂😎

Bought one of these before anyone had made a video. So far I've seen nothing but positive reviews and that reflects my experience with this trimmer. It's a winner.

Great info. I’ve been a battery powered trimmer for about 7 years. Different brand, but never had a problem. They pay for themselves saving Gas, oil and tuneups. 👍🏽

Good on hand review ! Straight foward ! Thank you ! 👌
  • @PDBASS1
I've been on the fence...your vid has convinced me its the one to buy...enjoyed it! thanks
  • @kbeast98
I got a nice craftsman 4 cycle, but its such a beast. Saw this and confirmed i can use all my attachments.
  • These just came out in Australia all my tools are Dewalt and they are awesome tools im defiantly getting this, Thanks for the review
  • I've just bought the 54V (in UK) DCM5713 - great bit of kit! Good video 👍 I'm trying to fit my old hedge trimmer attachment to see if it is compatible but there is a kind of flexible fabric sleeve connecting the main pole of the head of the DCM to the grass trimmer pole shaft so it is always connected but able to fold in half for transport/storage. Does that just pull off do you know or did you not have that on your model?
  • i got the same dewalt trimmer... no issues with mine .. i run mine on low speed and so far i have weed eated my yard 8 times for a total of 85 minutes and still have 2 bars left ... have a buddy that bought a "Ryobi" trimmer with a 7.5ah battery.. he said he has to charge his every 35 minutes.. he may run his wide open all the time but i don't know .. but my experience with my Dewalt timmer is great .. I would recommend the dewalt to anyone

Nice review, looks like it has good punch…..but I love my Milwaukee quik lok, watching you re spool the string made me really appreciate how easy the Milwaukee head is to load. But if your in the dewalt system looks like a great unit. I’m sure you could get a new head with the easy string loading capability. 👍
  • @crazyjoe91682
I’ve had the same issues using the string that came with it, always broke off and left me with one string. I switched over to the Echo crossfire, no problems.

Best Review of this model trimmer yet! I learned what I needed to learn, I bought the dewalt 20v(returned it 2 weeks later), it worked great but I didn't like the fact that the motor was in the head of the trimmer, it was bound to fail prematurely due to all the bumping. Plus I have trimmer attachments. Great job on the video
  • I think that huge, powerful battery is for the edger attachment which requires more torque. Great review, thanks.
  • @archael18
I'm not sure if you spooled your string correctly since it was edited out but it seems many people cuss at it because they do it wrong. There is a very easy and simple way to do it so I'm mentioning, just in case you want to look it up. You basically align the white marks, pass the string through, then use a ratchet motion to get it in. I just got this 2 days ago and it is awesome.
  • @billrau2398
Just ordered the exact one due to the motor being on Top & NOT at Bottom as the other models have. 👍🏼
  • @kenp9596
I have had mine for a couple of years and I agree it has done a good job. I would take it over a gas powered any day. However, the battery stopped working and wouldn't take a charge. A replacement battery cost about $250 (with tax) for the 60 V 9 amp. Just be aware that when the battery goes it is not going to be cheap to replace it.

Great video, thank you for the review on this Cordless Dewalt Strimmer. Im in the UK, and Im thinking on getting this strimmer. I have a request. Could you do a video on putting the string together for this strimmer. In the past , Ive used electric and petrol for my Strimmers , but I always had a difficult time with putting the string together. Thats why Im asking if you could take a few minutes to show us how to attach the string for this product. Thank you again. Much appreciated. PS- I just recently bought a whole bunch of Dewalt tools, and Im so happy I did. Dewalt Combi Drill is amazing. Dewalt Oscillating tool amazing. Dewalt hand saw DCS571N 18V , amazing. The good thing about all these tools is, you can charge them in the same charging port, and you can use any of the batteries on any of these power tools.

One thing that needs to be said...if you have an older Dewalt 60v trimmer with the motor attached directly above the trim line feeder you need to make sure that the vents around the motor housing are kept open and clear especially when doing heavy thick weed wacking for extended periods. After 7 years of heavy use on my 3 acre property I let the weeds get too thick and went thru six 9 amp hour batteries one right after the other and because the vent covers were blocked with 1/2 inch of green weed goop the motor overheated and started smoking rendering it permanently burnt out. I believe the newer 60v models have been redesigned with the motor installed up next to the battery housing which fixes the vent clogging problem!
  • I’ve had mine for two years now. Few things. 1. replace that crappy string head with the Husqvarna trimmer head, so much better and string changes are awesome. 2. keep an extra battery or two at the ready. 3. carry a brush in your pocket to unclog wet grass from the top of the motor head….it will overheat and smoke. 4. keep a cooler with a bag of ice for your wrist and elbow for when you’re done….the freaking handle is not ergonomic at all and it’s very uncomfortable especially after trimming hillsides. I still like the unit but I fear that the motor will burn up eventually. I love the fact that I don’t have to mess with fuel mixture. I love the instant on and low noise. I go through two 9 an hour batteries pretty fast when doing taller grass on roadside berms. I wish the tool lasted longer but that may be attributed to age and wear over two years time taking care of two properties. I ended up putting my old Ryobi handle on mine to help with the fatigue.
