The Government has made an ad about our Freedom of Information laws, and itโ€™s surprisingly honest and informative.

This is part of our ongoing series on whistleblower protection laws, trust, transparency and other things our government promised to fix whilst in opposition but yeah-nah. And yes... we made sure to include the calculator this time. If you value our work, become a patron and help us to keep going: www.patreon.com/thejuicemedia

Best trade mark of any government โ€œFuck you ๐Ÿ˜Šโ€
  • @SWRaptor1
Politicians lying should be expected until they prove otherwise.
  • @romanbrandle319
The problem with the FOI is that it would expose our country as being more corrupt than a lot of third world countries, and that's a bad look. It's the appearance of things that takes priority over the truth, nature, and the well being of the citizens.
  • @wocoom1
Having worked in government the whole FOI process is broken. Unless you know specifically what you want or who has access to the information you'll get stonewalled by the FOI officers and departmental lawyers.

Each country deserves their own Juicemedia and honest goverment adds
  • @AustralianConsultancy
I am putting forth an FOI request to see how thejuidemedia is the absolute best news agency in Australia, amazing work
  • @laok
The South Australia government spent 15B on one road because cars were to sl;ow and built a five-story park instead of a public urgent care
  • @AndrewBrownK
the antidote to corruption is light - exposure and transparency

Donโ€™t you just love watching a Satire video on Australian politics in America, at 2 am
  • @AndGotBusy
Best part about studying law is that the theoretical approach and the realistic results are extremely different.
  • @Black_Sun_Dark_Star
You forgot about the deal with the submarine that won't reach Australia till the technology onboard are all obsolete.
  • @casbot71
There is nothing so honest, transparent and idealistic as a Political Party's policies while they're in opposition.... except for a retired elder statesman politician of course.
  • @user-kl9vq9os4w
Albo promised to look into the cosy arrangement between ASIC and the banking industry. Now he's actively blocking any inquiry!
  • @grahamphillips110
We need a British Honest Government Ads, you need an Australian Jonathan Pie.
  • @_Raza_1
Finally a government ad thatโ€™s as transparent as their FOI practicesโ€”utterly invisible! ๐Ÿ˜‚ 'Things We Said Weโ€™d Do If You Elected Us But Yeah-Nah' is the perfect title. Nothing says accountability like imprisoning whistleblowers and hiding behind 'bullshit reasons' for denying FOI requests. Keep up the stellar work at making transparency a distant dream!
  • @freddoflintstono9321
It's not just Australia ๐Ÿคจ. Well done, once again - and welcome back ๐Ÿฅฐ
  • @daviddelgado6090
Thanks to Australia we don't feel as alone in our hopelessness in our US government
  • @hanzdekker1
It's against their own best interest to grant the FOI's because then you would know all the shady crap they're up to. Because if that got out then they might have to be held accountable.
