ICJ hears new case against Israel by South Africa | DW News

The ICJ convened to hear South Africa's case where it accused Israel of intensifying what it calls a "genocide" in Gaza. South Africa's legal team presented its case on Thursday, before Israel speaks on Friday.

Israel does not abide by international and humanitarian law, so I doubt the ICJ rulings will bring about any effect without the backing of the US which simply won't happen. It's mostly symbolic.

how do you report on the presentation of south africa without mentioning one lawyer ratteling of genocidal statements of isreal high level leader for 10-15 mins straight. That alone would say enough.

Rosie almost slipped up and called this a genocide but recovered and said “humanitarian crisis”. DW uses humanitarian crisis in the same way that Tass uses “special military operation”.

South Africa's ANC govt. is involved in the conflict in DR Congo and previously Mozambique. Refer to change in ANC's change in economic fortune. It is alleged that ANC officials accepted bribes from Iran to cover ANC debts in return for which its members agreed to pursue the case against Israel at ICJ.
