Being a spanish speaker, I am tempted to roll my R's like you'd imagine for spanish lol, the German R is a bit of a challenge tbh
  • @OreoundNomNom

I've spent 3 days trying to learn how to do this, thinking I was doing it wrong. Guess I've been doing it right all along. Thank you for the video! Subbed!

You continue to amaze me, sir. Taking the time to dissect the little things like this one small section of your language to make it more accessible to us non-native speakers is what sets you apart from everyone else, and why you have so many subscribers. When folks like yourself provide content like this, it really does help bring the world together when there's so much ridiculousness trying to push everyone apart. I know. It sounds hokey, but true. Keep up the good work, pal. 5 out of 5 sausages.

Nice! Das Wasser at minute 4:46 sounds like Hermoine explaianing the "leviosa" spell! Very good video, good explanation. I'm still practicing so I'll be watching the video more than once. Thanks!
  • @Dreadly
Wow. I was pronouncing it correctly all along. I was so self conscious of this because I found myself doing an uvular trill on/after some consonant pairs and dipthongs. Great explanation. Subscribed.
  • @BolteBuilt
Definitely a good one to do. I agree that the Rammstein way of the R seems over done and always wondered. Always meant to ask you. Good vid
  • @Bocahj4
I've never in 20 years been able to get anything that sounds like a rolled R until reading the text at 2:30. I can't thank you enough! 👍
  • @15iloveguitar
Thanks for the video. Taking this whole thing seriously so it's important to me to pronounce every sound correctly.
  • @LeMooree
Very well done explanation with good examples
  • @markhagge8646
Excellent video! Please do videos on the other letters / pronunciations that you mentioned.
  • @chriscrxh
In some regions , especially southern Germany, they roll the r like in Italian or Spanish. In the other regions it is like a voiced ch-sound. So, my tip: If you know how to pronounce the ch-sound in "acht" (engl. eight), then just add voice.
  • Echt spannend und sehr sehr nützlich. Immer hatte ich Problem damit, R - richtig zu sprechen. Gut gemachtes Video! Nun mach' ich mir keine Sorgen. Immer wieder kann ich dieses Video besuchen! Dank dir herzlich!
