Get the IMF investigators in - we need to know the truth

Can someone explain this? We've been running a deficit for years. Public spending has exceeded revenue for all that time. So doesn't that mean that there is always a hole in public finances? Why should we be surprised?

Freezing the tax thresholds will bring in more tax revenues without "increasing taxes".

Labour may have the same problems as the tories by not listening to the British public, big mistake.

The UK has one of the worst government pensions in Europe, the winter fuel payment made a little help towards the shortfall. The working class get a little back after 50 years of paying in. It's a slap in the face. The Labour Party should make the most of the next four years, because they will be on the opposition side for a long time.

The interviewer called him a liar twice, pushed her to use the word, and then highlighted the importance of ensuring facts are checked before calling someone a liar. 😂 Wtf?

Keir Starmer promised there would be no return to Austerity and yet here we are facing cuts to public services just because Labour won't tax the rich
  • She is treating the public like fools, the 20 billion black hole includes 11 billion of pay rises that the tories never committed too. Its labour giving junior doctors a 22 % pay rise.

The only way to pull the country out of this is by INVESTING. Invest in communities, invest in infrastructure, invest in education. Austerity does nothing but sow the seeds for more austerity
  • @mickreaddin4979
What's the difference between austerity under Labour and austerity under the Tories? Labour supporters kept telling me things would be different, so what is it that's different?

4 weeks in and already on the defensive. She's not going to last

Its impossible to think that labour didn't know this already. The economic data available to the previous ruling party is the same data available to the opposing party. They're third party auditors and non party civil servants involved in getting this data. Implying that "wow this is such a shock, we didn't see this coming" is insane.

Here we go.As expected the culture of blame thrives in the govenment. We will wake up one day and employ proper people to run the country instead of the following career minded people. Labour, Conservatives and other parties. We need to change.
