Conflict in Ecuador 1 Week into the Mafia War

Published 2024-01-17
One week into this conflict in Ecuador between the narco terrorists and the government, here’s my thoughts and analysis on what’s happening in Ecuador. 🇪🇨

The mafias in Ecuador are partnered with cartels in Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, and the Albanian mafia. They were unprepared for the strong response from the Noboa government and the first days of this war were devastating for them. However, they will adapt and attempt to corrupt key police and military that are going after them by threatening their families. They will use the same tactics that have been effective in Mexico unless their power can be broken quickly as Bukele did in El Salvador.

  • Thank you for your update. From what I've been able to ascertain, from thousands of miles away, from my Ecuadorian friends who are scattered throughout the country, yours is the most honest spot-on evaluation I've seen of the situation. Again thank you. Stay safe and take care of your family.

Thanks for this. A prosecutor was assassinated today in Guayaquil. I too am in a location where you don’t see foreigners. The curfew gave a little relief but it seems like it’s no longer as respected. Always enjoy the content. Stay safe.

  • Sir, your 'sense' is accurate. A person in my family is a Crisis Management Coordinator, Firefighter, and Paramedic, and he agrees with you.

Stay safe and thanks for the honest updates. Just a small thing pertaining to the professionalism of the police and military. When we lived in Ecuador my wife and I would make a game out of finding an officer on duty that was not on their cell phone. It was very rare to find one paying attention to their surroundings!

Really appreciate your perspective on this, western media isn't reporting it properly and it's good to hear from someone who has credible experience.
