Finally got my Iceman review out so I could watch this without being influenced! We have some views that are very different, and some that kinda line up. I love this video though and I think the instructive nature of some parts, how you explain how his mechanics work in more detail than me, is fantastic. The biggest difference is probably how we view him with Perfect Defense because...I actually don't like it haha! Surprise. He's good at hitting those triggers though but being defensive in combination with his expensive and - in my opinion - slightly overpriced cards, it's just a slow defensive playstyle on top of a slow defensive hero and uhhh... I wanna go faster! I think you've also given heavier weight to going alter-ego and shuffling Ice cards back in and not basic attacking minions, where I've especially favoured readying for him. Unfortunately for you, I think 'Pool has been really good for the last few heroes and I absolutely love it for Iceman. Healing Factor combined with Frostbites keeps him ultra-healthy - which keeps the triple resources online for Bobby's expensive cards. The icing on the cake is Stick-To-Itiveness which is a near-guaranteed ready every turn, meaning more and consistent Frostbite goodness. Oh, and I like making Snow Clones angry with Get Rage-y. But we're agreed on Leadership being most powerful!

I've played him quite a bit, including the expert Age of Apocalypse campaign -- mostly in Leadership but also some one-offs in Protection. The more I play him...the more I think he drifts toward the lower end of B or even high C. Frostbite is a fun trick but if his build falters and you get stuck with a couple expensive hands for whatever reason, he seems to get stuck and thwarts out. Maybe Justice is the answer. Anyway, excellent review!
  • That was an ice summary of a pretty fun hero! I have chilled out a bit after receiving and playing him, but overall he's going to hit the table a fair bit I think.
  • @EarthTwister
I'd love to see an "original X-Men" multiplayer table. Cyclops, Angel, Iceman Phoenix.... That'd be so cool!
  • @wizrad2762
Awesome review! Initially I thought Justice would be his best aspect because of his low thwarting ability, but I agree with your ranking it was very lackluster. Keep up the great content!
  • Great review! I’m really a big fan of Ice Man. We got to get Aggression Ice Man and Protection Cyclops to the table the other day and just being able to constantly have an upgrade out attached to whatever enemy we needed was phenomenal. Also really enjoyed getting to see your Protection Ice Man do work Sunday! Hopefully next time we play there won’t be hurricane winds trying to destroy my house with trees lol. -Josh
  • Will have to try protection again. Haven't tried leadership yet but you just made me realise how to use green better! I chucked most of his pre built deck into cyclops and that was craaazy to team then up together
  • @uriell295
Thanks. I am gonna use your "Ice to meet you all" build for full multiplayer "Age of Apocalypse" campaign :)
  • Iceman. The more I’ve played him and played around with different deck styles with him, I think he really is ok. He has some power, and can potentially get enough frostbites to make the villain get a de buff to 0 if whatever activation. Being able to affect multiple enemies is really nice, and that ice wall can also save the table for a round.

Something about being naked while wearing boots makes you 2x more naked.
  • @guarism0
nICE!! :D I found funny detail in the video, your tshirt has Iceman only wearing boots, while the cards have him only wearing short pants :_HULKSMASH:
  • @salsatheone
Everytime Nelson goes "We have some really really COOL"... We know, my man, we know.
  • Great analysis! I would consider using confuse-lock builds with Iceman. It allows him to really build up those Frostbites. In addition, it allows Frozen Solid to stay on the Villain because the Villain doesn't activate due to the Confuse Status, which takes priority over the Forced Interrupt. That allows the Frozen Solid to then stay in play when changing back to hero form. I found this to easily be one of my favorite builds.
  • @Brinn12
This wave is looking really good for protection players
  • @metascrub285
It might just be my luck, unus being a strong first villain on expert or my lines of play being shit but i just haven't had success with iceman. He has bad thawrt control, and kit seems to slow with how expensive it is. Seems stronger in multiplayer.
  • @iansmith9762
I would have liked to see an ice slide card of some kind
  • Is there a link to your tier list ? I can quite make out where some of the heroes are
  • @CANAS1AN
how many cards does a generator have to hit to be worth putting in? e.g. X-Gene can target 7 Iceman cards. This is before considering Bobby can shuffle his events back in.
  • @MaNemJeff87
Hey quick question about Iceman's Wall.Whats the timing on the force interupt between Iceman's Freeze and then the on on his wall does that other frost bite get discarded or stay on the attacker?
