  • As someone who has struggled for years with recurring sibo...I can say 100% hands down my experience has been that erythritol does ferment in the gut. It's bad news if you're trying to heal. Pure Liquid stevia drops and allulose are the best sweeteners I've not noticed any gut issues. When you live with sibo, and have IMMEDIATE and undeniable reactions to fermentation foods the cats out of the bag. Period
  • Aspartame is HUGELY INFLAMMATORY for me. Within half an hour of consuming it, walking becomes painful, especially up stairs. My arthritis is in remission due to low carb diet, but aspartame is an absolutely reliable pain trigger, here. I now avoid it like the plague.

Don't come for artificial sweetners, they're all I have left 😂

I lost all my weight heavily drinking Coke zero. I have kept it off for the last 7 years, even with 6 Pepsi zeros a day now. In fact, aside from having no calories, it helps stave off my hunger, so it killed my snacking between meals. Every allulose sweetened thing I've tried has sent me running to the bathroom, so that's off the table.

Awesome video thank you for covering this!

My girlfriend and I were getting weird headaches. I rarely get headaches. We tried cutting out the aspartame sweetener we’d started using, and headaches went away! I’ve been aware of getting similar headaches after some drinks with aspartame too since.
  • Allulose made me vomit horribly. Erythritol made my heart feel like it was about to jump out of my chest. Now that I think about it Stevia is the only sweetener that never gave me problems.
  • Pepsi and coke can make a soda with part allulose part stevia if allulose is expensive
  • For two years I had wrist pain that I thought was due to bicycling. Then I gave-up drinking low cal lemonade with Aspartame and my wrist paint went away. Its horrible stuff.
  • Aspartame gives me migraines, so I drink sparkling water with a splash of lime. I will have a diet drink once in a while. I mainly like carbonation.

How is acesulfam K, another common sweetener, compared to aspartan? Some beverages manufacturers have replaced the combination aspartan and acesulfam K with sucralose and acesulfam K. Is the latter less harmful than the former?

I drink diet soda all the time. It doesn't spike my blood sugar and doesn't trigger cravings and managed to lose 60lbs while drinking diet soda and eating things with artificial sweeteners
  • Thomas De Lauer This is the second time we meet my dear friend Thomas. The first time I met you, after taking a picture with you, I said to myself, Wow! Thomas is very nice and humble, now that I met you for the second time, I can boldly say, you’re the nicest YouTuber guy-friend I have ever met! Thank you Thomas, for being you! Joel

Artificial sweetners spike my blood sugar almost as much as sugar. In my personal experience, I've decided to avoid them altogether since the effect is basically the same.
  • Aspartame is a huge source of free glutamate like msg. If you handle it fine - great but for many it can cause migraines, overthinking, behavioral issues, insomnia... So please think twice or be aware of this before giving drinks like this to kids. How people metabolize glutamate is related to genetics - how much GAD enzyme a person makes. GAD enzyme converts glutamate to gaba. It’s different for every person how much glutamate load they can handle.

I freaking love allulose, tastes so good I haven’t used sugar in ages because of it
  • @admgloval
I drink at least 1 diet coke every day and have zero issues with it. No effect on weight and it doesn't spike my blood sugar at all. Also use Allulose in coffee in morning with zero issues. Stevia and all other sweeteners taste like crap to me. I would maybe be ok with the Coke company moving to Allulose in Diet Coke although it would change the flavor which is the main reason I enjoy Diet Coke over all other diet sodas. Allulose in coffee is great because it tastes just like sugar which is what I want.
  • @fern
How was Stevia skipped in this discussion? Since we're talking about sugar alternatives and pretty much everyone I know takes Stevia and avoid Aspartame like the plague. I personally take natural Stevia with no additives (no Erythritol) and I find it so far the best one with no stomach issues and if you find the right manufacturer, fantastic sugar like flavor.

People want sweet, we don't NEED it.
