The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been out for four years at this point, and players have found some amazing things, intended or not, that keep the game and its sense of discovery feeling fresh.

The insane level of creativity TotK has to offer is gonna give us YEARS worth of these videos all over again

I love how by "breaking" the game you can see just how deep the level of detail in BotW goes. Kite a Guardian across the map to an NPC? They'll have unique dialogue. Wedge a weapon into the gears of a machine? The whole thing comes to a stop. I can only imagine what secrets the sequel will have with its even greater level of creative freedom.

I love these videos so much! Here's a little rare fact I can share: If you buy up all the mushrooms at the Gerudo Town's mushroom stall, the seller will lie to prospective customers saying that she sells mushrooms that are invisible except to those who are beautiful. NPCs that are examining the stall will comment on trying to see these invisible mushrooms and if they should believe it or not. Also, the movement of the clouds are actually affected by the wind, so if you observe closely, you can see that the clouds follow the wind's direction. It's easy to go unnoticed with shields on Link's back, but all handheld weapons have some kind of sheathe or attachment design for the weapon to be held in when unequipped, not just swords. Some of the designs are pretty fun or creative.
  • Less than 60 days till totk and this series is still going. That is some ridiculous level of dedication
  • @jovlem
It's crazy how this game still gets to amaze me after so many years!

1:55 - The color changing was noticeable A LOT in the Knight Academy Custom Dungeon I made for Breath of the Wild because of the very colorful carpet textures 😂 One you stepped onto it, the colors changed quite a lot
  • Isn’t it crazy how this series are still going even after BOTW coming out a whole 6 years ago? That just truly proves how beautiful and well-made this game is! Edit: the fact that this comment has became on of the top comments is AWESOME! Edit 2: Warning: a lot of opinion’s about the game in general down below!

Nice to know that Teba interaction was one I got. Didn't realize it was so rare

I love how these things aren't just "did you know there's this tiny something behind this other thing" or stuff like that but they're actual interesting pieces of hidden content still after this many years and this many episodes of this series. Couldn't be more excited to play Tears of the Kingdom and I hope it has as much to find and hide and discover as this game does just as far or even farther down the line.
  • @4esthete
I will miss this series so much. Provided so much entertainment and wonder, and mystery. May it live on with TOTK. Thanks Max, from all of us x
  • Fun fact: Rola’s most likely from Lurelin village! In Japanese, Lurelin villagers have a unique dialect, and Rola has it too. It’s also the reason why she has a different skin and hair colour than the other Kakariko residents :)
  • I don’t think you should end this series, just because there’s a sequel. If there’s new stuff to be discovered, it’s worth exploring. Do both!
  • @ppowersteef
The NPC's Running for their live, and even faceplanting on the ground, really got me! I've never even considered it since these boss enemies never get close to civilisation
  • @skins4thewin
The physics engine in this game has always astounded me. Nintendo really does have the most talented programmers!
  • @100Peterll
The jamming the gears part is truly impressive, it's probably something that most other games would cut corners making each section work or their own to avoid errors or bugs but not BoTW, they actually went the extra mile engineering the machines and gear systems for real instead of just the illusion of one.

4:13 i remember doing this with the flameblade on my master mode playthrough, and being surprised that she had different dialogue
  • Been following this series from the beginning and it’s gotten me to go back and play the game more. It’s also given me patience for TOTK because this series has shown me the level of care and detail that went into the original. Thank you!

A feature I have always wanted in botw (and hopefully totk) is ambushes in woods. Hear me out. I know there is the one area in Faron, but that’s not the whole idea. A tactic that was practiced by soldiers for centuries (even in Vietnam) was to listen for the birds. They usually tweet and sing, but if they stop making sound, it cold be a sign that someone, or something, is about to attack. Botw mainly has open fields, so it’s hard for this to work out. But with totk changing so much terrain and item usage, it could find a home here.

I came back from 2854 to congratulate you for your last (future) video on botw details. Not as good as the 2793 ones (especially the first 20) but still great!
