I put a Mirth clip in the video not knowing what they did. That’s my mistake for not doing more research on the creator and I would never promote them intentionally. I apologize.

Some theories I didn't mention due to time and clarity reasons (or I just forgor)

The Toy animatronics have scanners connected to a criminal database, this was done in hopes of catching William. After FNAF 2, the Toy animatronics are scrapped for parts and the Withered animatronics (Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Foxy, Chica, Golden Freddy) with the spirits of the Missing Children inside are moved to the FNAF 1 location, the location they died in.

There is a bit of confusion regarding if the FNAF 2 phone calls are prerecorded and not meant for Jeremy, as Phone Guy says “new summer job,” when the game takes place in November. Well, in the phone calls, Phone Guy addresses the listener as the second employee who’s worked there, and since Fritz is employee 3 as seen on his pink slip, this confirms that Jeremy is employee 2, confirming that Phone Guy is indeed talking to Jeremy.

The gameplay of FNAF 4 is not from the Crying Child’s perspective in the observation room that William built, but simply a dream. The reasons for this from a narrative perspective are sparse, but it makes sense for a couple of reasons. We see Mike’s drawing of Nightmare Fredbear in the Survival Logbook. This confirms Mike being the FNAF 4 player character, not Crying Child. This also means that William could have placed Michael in the observation room as well, just like he would later do with Crying Child. There are also a lot of weird elements in FNAF 4 that indicate it being a dream, which was likely the original intent. But since Scott retconned the Nightmare animatronics to be real in Sister Location, he needed another reason for FNAF 4’s dreamlike appearance. So, he decided to make Mike the player character of FNAF 4. Long story short, in 1983, Crying Child did indeed experience the horrors of very real Nightmare animatronics, but in 1993 during FNAF 1, Michael dreamed of the Nightmare animatronics coming to get him. This also satisfies a weird quota of Mike being the player character in every FNAF game until UCN. Cool, I guess.

Another mystery in this game is that at the end of each night in Sister Location, Mike goes home and watches his favorite show, The Immortal and the Restless. Like we said before, the show is a parallel to William and his wife’s relationship. But the thing that has always stumped me is the ending of the show. Even when all has gone to shit, Clara and Vlad still make up in the end. It seemed impossible. That’s when it hit me. It’s Mike’s favorite show. Survival Logbook page 30, when asked his favorite TV character, Mike writes, “Clara from “The Immortal and The Restless” because everything about this place is crazy and no one seems to notice except me. Mike looks up to Clara, and probably loves the show because it’s so similar to his own family’s situation, but this time, it has a happy ending. In the real world, his mother either committed suicide or died, or something, most likely due to her abusive husband William, but in the show, the parents make up. It’s the happy ending the Michael has always wanted.

  • Hey guys! Thank you so much for watching. I know that Game Theory has their timeline in the works currently, which I don't necessarily agree with but it definitely raises some great points . There are some things I didn't include for clarity and time reasons, I added them to the description. And remember all of this is subject to interpretation, I did this as a fun challenge. So no being condescending or mean. poopyheads EDIT: DDLC VIDEO IS OUT!! Go watch fanks 😘 ANOTHA EDIT: seeing a lot of ppl confused about the trans gregory line, gregory isnt actually trans but there was a mistranslation in one of the Tales stories in the books leading to a conclusion that he was trans. Admittedly not that funny but a reference to a community moment. I respect trans people and myself use he/they pronouns (AMAB) and am considering using he/she/they. Apologies if this offended anyone.

Can we just respect how this is exactly 1 hour long?
  • @askalon2495
An absolutely hilarious and expertly made video that I didn’t have to rewind 100 times to figure out what the hell you were talking about. This was so well done, and a pleasure to watch.
  • @Burley6969
33:00 you have no idea how much I appreciate someone finally mentioning that ITS NOT A SPRINGLOCK TRIGGER!!! it’s driven me crazy how everyone says the child’s tears triggered the springlocks when it’s already in animatronic mode. I feel so validated lmao
  • @codyryan9789
anyone else notice how the way the core 7 games are released DIRECTLY goes with the ways that the nights are structured? Theres 5 main games, a sixth game for exposition, and a custom night.
  • @Joshua-hf5ui
It’s interesting seeing the differences between this and MatPats theory , a lot of parts can be changed and it shows how wide open the fnaf lore is.
  • @DayvonR64
I really wish Scott would come out with a "real" guide that explains everything from start to finish. I know that all the fun is in theory crafting and feeling great that you solve pieces of lore through puzzles, but the story has been through too many retcons and reboots that it's hard for new people to get into the game. Why are we still focused on missing information from the first game when we're in an entirely different "era" of Fnaf decades later in Security Breach. I would rather he lets out his version of the timeline so that everything is compact and nicely woven into a narrative so we can jump to the new story and not feel like we have to retread over and over again.
  • @Alex-mq6qi
30:39 it's worth pointing out that in the same game Nightmare Freddy has a line saying "I have been given flesh to be your tormentor", which would imply more heavily that the first Nightmare animatronics were created by the illusion disks or some other way to make Crying Child hallucinate and then they were made "real" in William Afton's personal hell
  • @olivialeger3647
Here's a great way to sum up the FNAF lore: People being stuffed into robots, robots stuffing themselves into people, and a serial killer who defies the laws of reality.
  • @herovill9629
The divorce theory and buried mother ALMOST makes sense, and I want to believe it… it seems to fit way better than anything else even if it has its own issues as well
  • @pokokor6121
I genuinely think this is one of the best fnaf theory videos out there because it acknowledges the very true reality that Scott's view on where the story should go has changed drastically through the course of the franchise at multiple points.
  • @JustHaltGaming
Thank you for actually being critical of the story lmfao. Breath of fresh air tbh. I'd really like to hear Scott explain the lore himself sometime, because I genuinely don't believe he even knows anymore.
  • @schnds
Ain't nothing beating this video unless Scott himself were to reveal the true timeline in a lengthy post, which to be honest, is never going to happen. I've watched this video countless times due to the pacing, editing, and storytelling that's presented. Makes the lore much easier to follow. All I can say, man, is you knocked it out of the park. Congrats on all your success, brother. God bless.
  • Everyone is commenting about how well you put together this lore (which you did, and probably in the most believable timeline i've seen yet). However, I was honestly even MORE impressed by the editing in this video. Amazing work all around !
  • @technofurs
I'd like to add, the safe rooms were probably sealed because of the missing childrens incident happening. In 'pressure', one of the new stories from 'tales from the pizzaplex', it's mentioned that William murdered the kids in the safe room. So management attempted to seal the truth away by sealing everything that led to the kid's dissapearance.
  • @midgematic8659
Nothing quite titillates me than the internet bloodsports over FNAF lore. I love the revival of the FNAFdom and an uprise of new FNAF creators, looking forward to watching you go insane with the others! Great vid!
  • @DingusButDead
That scene in UCN with Golden Freddy always makes me sad. Like, this kid, this poor child, keeps themselves from moving on so that they can punish William. They're so hurt that they refuse to let themselves be at peace all in the name of their (rightful) hatred.
  • I’m so glad someone actually uses evidence instead of inferring everything using cryptic signs, a total overhaul of the timeline is what we needed. Although I feel like some evidenced in fnaf 4 could be used for later games as later games may have taken insignificant details from fnaf 4 into account (such as the pigtail girl although I don’t believe in that). Scott could use stuff from previous games to retroactively leave breadcrumbs
  • This is one of the greatest timelines I've ever heard. It ties up SO many loose ends about the timeline that I completely forgot existed so this was real treat.
  • @shaankelly1302
With so many takes on the lore its amazing how so many will interpret certain things differently. I agree with most of this aside from Fnaf 1-3 being a dream until the retcon and the nightmare animtronics being real. Its very clear to me with the IV and the Flowers and such this is a nightmare while crying child is in a coma from the bite and the evidence you provided to say they are real is, well, iffy at best. Everything else i think is spot on. Also random shoutout to using my fav Celeste song for a lot of the video
