MN86KS. Serious RC crawler, or cool-looking toy?

Publicado 2021-05-01
What do you think? can this Chinese un-licensed RC be considered a crawler? Let's put it through its paces, and you let me know below.

I have recently returned to RC after being out of it for over 20 years.
I started with small and cheap crawlers, mostly from China, which are booming in the sector, and this one just came out..., and I think, quite special.

Not only is it a stunning looking rig, modeled after the famous G-wagen, in its most extreme iteration, but also a surprising performer.

I love that it cost as much as any of its competitors, but it's SO much more capable and rugged.

I throw everything at it, water, mud, impossible hills, even after several rolls, and it just came back for more!!

In case you're wondering, yes, it has some modifications, but except for the added details of paint in very few areas I did to make it look yet more real, the roof's light bar, and the Electronic Speed Control, which is something you need to buy for this kit (as the radio and receiver), anyway, all the mods are from MN themselves: metal wheels (heavyweight, helping bring the center of gravity lower) with foams, metal driveshafts (I will admit, after a bit of extreme climbing, the original plastic ones gave up in about half an hour), lights (which don't improve performance, but surely it makes it look nicer and more scale).

Only just discovered this little rig. Have read your comments here and I see your point. Looks like a decent little runner with a few minor additions. Thanks for putting me onto it :)

It really is a great value kit however its more of a trail crawler, its really tail heavy since its a wagon. Great video of showing how it can perform!
