How HS2 gets past Birmingham - Airport Interchange & Delta Junction

2023-03-12に共有
Looking by drone at how HS2 gets past Birmingham and current construction status, including the Interchange Station linking to Birmingham Airport, various road changes on & around the A45 & A446, numerous crossings by HS2 of the M6, M42 and M6 Toll motorways, a whole load of power lines, and the delta junction where the Birmingham spur of HS2 links to the main line. Also the new link road being built to the new M42 J5A and some gratuitous shots of the airport runway because I unexpectedly got permission to fly a drone there after lengthly discussions with various airport officials (DO NOT try that without getting permission and air traffic control being aware and OKing it). Don't ask me how to get that permission, I don't know that they'd give it again and if you knew the regulations well enough, you'd know who to ask.

All drone footage original and mine.

  • Good to see you put a warning at the start for other inexperience Drone Users, not to fly their Drones near an airport, and thanking the airport for letting you fly your Drone over the HS2 site near the airport.
  • @Nooticus
Absolutely exceptional video, though I personally suggest that you narrate a little slower and explain specific details using maps for longer, so that people who aren't intimately familiar with the area and the road layout don't need to keep jumping back and forward and reference google maps!

I honestly watch these mainly for the drone shots. The well-presented infrastructure info is a nice bonus.
  • It is nice to see some one explaining how HS2 services will reach Manchester via a junction near Lichfield at Handsacre and join the WCML, it seems for some reason every one thinks that HS2 is going no where further than Birmingham which as your video proves is not the case.

The development for the HS2 is absolutely phenomenal, you guys putting all this together I applaud you, I can't wait to see the finished article, with GOD'S blessing of course 😊
  • This is excellent content Martina! A good mix of aerial footage, relevant and understandable maps, and clear commentary. Things which you make look easy but which can be tricky. Very happy to have subscribed, please, keep looking at things!
  • Excellent video, the best yet ! Keep up the good work pal !
  • This was great, seeing stuff from the air gives a very useful perspective. Much appreciated.
  • @bagpuize
Another cracking video. Well researched and beautifully shot. Thanks.
  • Oh goody some HS2 content on Birmingham & the north of Birmingham, good delivery, It would be great if you could make longer videos on the north of the aforementioned! Liked & subscribed 😊
  • @thomash1
The link to the NEC should be fantastic! I can't wait to see this in action.
  • Hi Martina! Many thanks for doing all of these videos. I used to live in the area, many moons ago, so it's nice to see what is happening. Any chance you could do a video over the Washwood Heath site down to Saltley viaduct, please? Many a morning I had changing buses on Saltley Viaduct. Thanks!!
  • Excellent work again Martina, thanks you for putting all the time and effort in. A very information intensive video so I will have to rewatch to get orientated with it all. I noticed you mentioned National Grid infrastructure and referred to the movement of ‘pylons’. In the UK people in the industry tend to refer to them as ‘Towers’. Referring to them as ‘pylons’ is of course fine and is the term the general public would generally know them as. It’s just I noticed you do seem to use accurate technical terms in general so I thought I would give you another one from my industry. Cheers and best wishes. 👍🙂🙏
  • Excellent content, thanks!! Please slow down the pace a bit and linger on the maps for longer!
