This is why I dont like parents on YOUTUBE using their children to make their videos
  • When my daughter was 3 someone gave me an agents name and number, "because she's so adorable and needs to be on TV".... I was intrigued and so I messaged the agent. They responded with a series of questions and a list of requirements. One of the requirements buried in the middle was that "I must be ok with and allow my child to enter a room with 1 or 2 adults alone - required for closed door auditions". This was a Fxxk NO for me and I couldn't believe any other parent would go ahead with that.
  • Her Mother wasnt pursuing her own dreams at the expense of the Daughter, but guiding and guarding the Daughters dreams along with her. A true parent.

We don't teach young people to say no but we also don't teach them to trust their instincts and trusting their instincts might be the thing that saves them from a bad situation.
  • Corey Feldman has been sceaming about this abuse for decades: invite him to speak to you.

Why anyone would want to be involved in Hollywood at this point is beyond me
  • The point about noticing the initial testing moves, and rejecting them, is THE most important part of this conversation. I was an agreeable, partially physically disabled, high functioning autistic child, with inattentive parents. I had to teach myself to see predators coming, after years failing to see them in time. I was in my early teens by the time I had fully developed my 'spidey sense', and could fend off their initial subtle tests. As a result of my desperation to stop being fodder for predators, I got very good as spotting them, I warn parents to watch certain people around their kids. This sort of stuff happens all the time, not just to actors. I understand people who have good natural instincts and never become victims may find it hard to believe, but there are so. many. predators. out there, it's absolutely unreal. Teaching our kids (especially agreeable kids) to spot those initial moves is essential.
  • People look at me crazy when I talk about putting my son in self defense courses.. he’s 7. Children should be taught how to defend themselves.

Hollywood was also dead quiet on the Sound of Freedom.... Your silence is deafening!!

Normally I can't stand when interviewers interrupt their guests, but when Dr Peterson does it I know he's doing it to say something very pertinent and clarifying.
  • speaking as a former actor that worked in the industry during the 2000 and for almost a decade, i would like to add that its not only magnetism and being captivating or entertaining what puts a lot of these ppl in the bulls eye sort of speaking. i think that it also has a lot to do with an actor’s ability to be vulnerable and open and in acting words “trusting “….. trust the moment, trust the director, trust your scene partner, trust your agent and this whole mentality of “ you are playing in the big leagues aka hollywood so you have to “ BE A PRO” and do the job or else someone else will, so if you start adding all those factors and in particular if the person is a young actor, then you can definitely see how easy is to take advantage of such people and omg the stories and lessons you learn and see and live, like i still cannot believe i went to some backyard alley auditions like the ones i went before and left ok like guuuuuuuuurl….. so yeah … hollywood truly mastered and perfected the path for the peoplr like harvey and roman and a lot the others to be able to do what they do in such an easy way. its so insane

Brett’s mother should be proud; this is the best Mother’s Day present for her, as her grown daughter realizes her mother’s protective nature and is thankful for it.
  • @Grizzlox
Brett is proof of how important it is to have a good mom. Happy Mother's Day ladies ❤

Small wonder that most of Hollywood criticize people who try to bring this to light. Most of us suspected what that type of reaction implied.
  • This is the conversation that NEEDS to be broadcast. The rumours and full stories coming out from people about horrible abuse and full on unspeakable horror is too much to ignore.
  • This is why children need mature parents watching over their children. Teaching them to be aware of their surroundings, and sensitive to abnormal behavior.
  • Protecting children is something everyone can agree on! Thank you Dr Peterson for covering this and thank you Brett for the share.
