    After stopping eating all processed food and seed oils for 6 months, the smell of fast food and most restaraunt food is unbelievably bad .
  • Took me awhile to realize I was not intolerant to french fries, or fried foods from restaurants when I did it myself with beef tallow or lard and was fine. I suspected the oil after awhile, and appreciate you pointing out the details of why I was right.

    Seed oils were originally developed to run a diesel engine and when the oil industry started making diesel fuel they had to find a new market for seed oil so they sold it for ( human consumption)
  • All you need to do is to check the dumpsters behind restaurants - they have large empty drums of Canola oil. They are cooking all their food in this, not lard, not butter, not olive oil.

    I stopped eating seed oils many years ago. I decided to self experiment with myself and allowed myself to eat a small bag of kettle potato chips to see what would happen. About three days after eating the chips, I had intense muscle cramps from head to toe. They were intense and extremely painful and I'm convinced it was due to the seed oil consumption after a couple year hiatus.

    Thank you so much for this Dr. Shanahan. I have been reading and listen to experts about this topic for awhile now and I did not understand it as an overall process. I followed the points you made and the systematic view of the cell/metabolic process. I wish a had a doctor like you to help me. My doctors follow the mainstream dogma and that’s definitely not helping. Thank you for helping ❤

  • I only cook in lard or butter. I have tallow but I don't like it.. lol I used to use olive oil all the time. BTW I'm diabetic and olive oil is the only thing that doesn't make my sugar go up... oh man coconut oil my sugar went to about 400 using that it was crazy. Thank you for explaining this.

    It's not just the processing, though. It's the molecular structure of PUFAs.
  • If I cook my food with duck fat, is it ok? Just yesterday I fried potatoes in duck fat and the texture and taste is amazing. I don’t eat fried foods on the regular, but that was a special breakfast at home on Sunday.

  • My gut damage from lifetime (40 years) of seed oil consumption and exposure is permanent. Though I have stopped and remain vigilant about avoiding them I absolutely cannot broaden my consumption of foods…meat and water and plain coffee is where I am permanently at. So, according to statement at time stamp 21:10 my GI tract is almost a complete a goner. This info is truly empowering though. It removed all my fears of not knowing what the future of my health will be. Thank you Dr Cate🙏🏽🙂🙂

    She tossed out the idea of how attempting to burn off these fats would create a toxic overload. And then she said not to worry she had answers and then she never mentioned what the answer was to that specific problem..
