Hi Luke, as for me, I learnt grammar relatively easy, yet the biggest problem is vocabulary. Learning new words seams to be very difficult to me. However, it's understandable since I'm over 50 years old.
  • A fascinating discussion by two very devoted, brilliant, and duly appreciated contributors to YouTube's English teaching scene. An honest confession about the hardships, pitfalls and (sometimes) rewarding moments of the profession. I found especially exciting the last part about AI and how it might transform language teaching (and most of our lives) within a relatively short period of time. I am, unfortunately, more inclined to share Luke's rather dystopian views about what to expect in the future... Thank you both!!!

I had a native English speaker teacher who concluded in his mind if there’s a body part in an essay, then the other parts are called legs and arms

I liked that present perfect is like sugar for dentist¡¡¡¡ it make cry.😂😂😂😂😂
  • Amerikos is quite strange nickname, I thought that it had some Greek roots. But after watching this video I have some vague thoughts that it probably has some Russian relations!😂 Thanks for this conversation, very interesting!
  • I am from Georgia ,there are a lot of None native English teachers who teach perfectly ☺️like my sister and lecturer

Perhaps a sports analogy would be appropriate. A native English speaker could be as good a teacher as Maradonna was a coach in European football or Wayne Gretzky in ice hockey. There are successful cases where a coach has never been a player. And there are failed cases where the most successful players did nothing as coaches. Speaking a language and learning to speak a language, as they say in Odessa, are two big differencies.
