  • Can we all take a moment to appreciate that in the Anime, Brock, the Rock-type Gym Leader, had the foresight to install sprinklers in his gym, even though he might not really need them, whereas Erika, the Grass-type Gym Leader did not.
  • I love that the Gym Leaders got more personalities over the generations. In Gen 8 and 9 does every Gym Leader feel like hia own character. Like how Grusha has depressions and a tragic backstory with the snowboard accident.

No. No. No. No, Pelliper isn't forgotten, it's realy good in vgc because it's one of the only drizzle pokemon

Masters has proven to be an interesting supply of facts on the character and nuances of the gym leaders, serving as a useful narrative tool between mainline games. Two examples I like is how Skyla will actually acknowledge the meme of her gym's obstacles being extravagent; she admits that a lot of challengers end up feeling so worn down by taking all the machine's abuse they don't always put up a good fight, which ties into what she says in BW2 about not having a memorable match in two years. More interestingly is that she mentions contributing to the designs of the obstacles, implicating she has mechanical engineering competence in addition to her piloting. The other is how Elesa has a more subtle take; she admits that when fans want photos with her, she tends to fall into the supermodel persona, cool and detached, and this makes Elesa feel a bit self-concious that she can't just relax and be herself. Adorably, she notes that she's at perfect ease with Skyla at least, so at least she has a reliable confidant to work on her insecurity.

On that last fact, I think an explanation for why we don't see these other Gyms in the games is because the regions are as big as they are in the anime, but we don't travel to every town in the games, so we only get the eight specific badges, that's my head canon anyway.
  • I refuse to accept the slander at Pelipper. In VGC formats where restricted legendaries are not allowed (the current format allows it, Im talking about the format that doesnt), Pelipper is a good option for a rain/tailwind/wide guard support.

Comments talking about the (frankly disgusting) original thumbnail with Misty shirtless, his most popular video still has a similar thing there. Dude, your videos are actually interesting, but having a child (fictional or not) shirtless in the thumbnail is plain wrong no matter how you censor it. That sort of clickbait isn’t right, you’re attracting a disgusting group of people to your videos and the fact that you have the image saved in the first place is probably straight up illegal considering some laws that have come into place on this sort of stuff. Just for future reference, you can be better than this.

I'd say Aaron was Canalave's gym leader, as Byron was Oreburgh's first and the position on Canalave got open and he took it leaving Roark in charge of Oreburgh
  • Aaron couldn't have been the Oreburgh gym leader before Roark, because Byron was the previous gym leader. If I had to guess, I'd say Aaron was probably the gym leader of Canalave City instead. That would match up with Byron being asked to lead the Canalave gym and leaving the Oreburgh gym to Roark. Other than that, Maylene is probably Sinnoh's youngest gym leader, so he could have led the Veilstone gym as well.
  • I went into the comments to see if anyone was going to comment on Hoops calling Drayden Drayton for that entire segment and apparently this video had a very different thumbnail a few hours ago
  • I just joined the Spotify community, and look forward to supporting you through that, too! PS- these "did you know" videos are what attracted me to your channel in the first place, and I enjoyed this one just as much as any of the others. Thanks for taking the time to create these videos for us!

this is gonna sound so nerdy but alonso has to be a reference to fernando alonso, a formula 1 driver from spain, which paldea is based on
  • I haven’t watched the video yet, but I say with full confidence that none of these facts can be as crazy as that thumbnail.
  • I always love your stuff! That thumbnail tho... Keep up the great work regardless!!!!
