After watching this video, the following Tolkien quote came to mind: “ go not to the elves for counsel, for they will say both no and yes.“
  • If i drop my carbs too low or too long, my body systems run at a greatly reduced rate. I'll never be able to exercise at a high level going that route. It will result in a skinny fat weak person. I do eat keto 90% of the time, but I have to recharge with carbs every now and then. To make great progress learn to keto better and load carbs better. The expertise makes the progress and not the further restriction.

I don’t even like to call what I do keto, but I do low carb less than 100/110 grams a day, zero processed, no seed oils, organic/grass fed/pasture raised everything when possible. Lost 70 lbs since September 2023 and still feel good energy wise.

Love Keto and it definitely helps with mental clarity!!

I often struggle to get enough carbs and when I a below 150-200g for long I feel it. Especially now that I’m trying to slowly cut down body fat, but I’m still gaining strength in my work outs so I’m happy enough with that for now haha

Optimizing vs maximizing...good concept. I would encourage more dialogue on this for the community, Thomas.
  • Wow brilliant, this is youtube gold right here, way to go TD! Dr. Galpin is seriously knowledgeable.

Can you do an updated outline of your current macros and eating habits

"There's clearly no special benefit" is untrue. People tend to say this kind of thing when what they mean is "I've seen no evidence," and it casts doubt on anything else they have to say. There was a study recently where they demonstrated that fatty acids and ketones burn cleaner and that athletes with flexible metabolisms can supplement with carbohydrates to enhance the available fuel in such a way that simply isn't available to them if they train carb-heavy. I don't have the specifics at my fingertips, but Low Carb MD did a whole podcast on it about six months ago. I think it was one of the guys who did the study, but it was definitely someone who works with low carb athletes. Generally speaking, the reason why athletes have issues with low carb is that it takes them basically an offseason to become fat adapted and bring their performance to where it was.

Thrive market won’t let you check what they have in stock. How do I even know if they carry anything worth the subscription.
  • @mannyquiero6044
The real world doesn’t revolve around high performance athletes. Low carb and fasting has helped millions of everyday regular people.

Reacting to large amounts of sugar ( sugar sensitivity) might be telling you something? You absolutely won’t have zero glucose in your system it’s required and made from protein even if eat no carbs. Anymore than 1 teaspoon in the blood has to cleared out, we are one of the very few animals that can effectively use ketones very well, all those facts point to carbs not being any animals food without consequences . A life time of overeating carbs is unlikely to have left no footprint in your body even addiction. You have think that we created super high carb foods and that’s not the norm in the wild.

I don't know if you noticed a change in your subscriptions but FYI, Youtube has unsubscribed me from your channel without ever asking me... I only noticed yesterday after a week or so of not receiving any updates from you and thinking it was weird because you trained me to expect a new video every day. I had to resubscribe manually to your channel as if I wasn't already for over 3 years at this point.

Does this guy have a Monster energy drink tattoo on his upper-right arm? lol...Not sure I can hear him out after seeing this...
  • @gothops2632
Have you noticed the way Andy pronounces the letter "s" 😂
  • Again this video is mostly if not all for men. It's great for them but the audience is bigger than that.
