  • Unrequited to the Nth Degree was my most listened song on my streaming service a few years ago. This must be the tenth or so of my top 20 artists that’s been on the show so far…someone’s got wonderful taste in music! Love this so so much 🎶
  • I’m 57 and have grown up my entire life with his songs. I told him this in Dublin and he replied “then we grew up together”. Love the man.
  • Fuck it, I'm commenting twice. What a phenomenal songwriter and what a great tune

Discovered this gentleman way back in 74, when DEAD SKUNK was on the radio. Did not know for a long time how good, how excellent of a songwriter and singer Loudon was and is. So glad that he is still with us, still writing beautiful and powerful new songs, and WOW! his voice is still strong at 77!
  • Wow, I can't hardly believe this...Yesterday I pulled a Wainwright album out and jammed with it. "Me and the Cat". Amazing. Also, Saw Louden with Mahavishnu Orchestra in 1973 in Los Angeles. 😁😎
  • I first saw Loudon when he appeared in a couple of episodes of M*A*S*H. Great! Poet Emeritas!
  • He was in Tim Burton's wild movie Big Fish 20 years ago. Hard Day on the Planet is a favorite song of mine from the mid 80's
  • @AnRodz
Incredible what a guitar, strumming and an old man singing passionately can do to your Spirit ! Sublime. Thanks.
  • Of course it would be the class act, Colbert, that brings us one of the true greats in American music, Loudon Wainwright III. Been watching him perform since the mid '70s. Loved his recent book, "Liner Notes".
  • I've loved you for {gasp} 51 years, since I was a junior in high school! You never stop writing beautiful songs with gorgeous, heartrending lyrics. You're a treasure.
  • I love the respect and administration you can see in Stephen's face:)
  • The days of the troubadours are still alive and well. Many lessons - many blessings.
  • I found Loudon through his songs on the Knocked Up soundtrack. The movie was ok Loudon is awesome! 😊
  • Beautiful malady and a wonderful beginning of my day. I should listen to more music of him. I already knew about his music by way of the song "The Man who couldn't Cry" when Johnny Cash covered that. Loved that one too.
  • "Oh Tokyo, They got some saki, and sashimi, and some clean sheets, Oh, kimono, oh, kimono... Tokyo's the town that I love the best, East may be East, and West may be West, Forget about between, it'll drive you insane, And teach you things you never knew before."
