  • We visited Panama in June. I was skeptical of all the glowing reviews. Based on my experience, the reviews are accurate. The people are friendly, many dark-skinned folks there and the overall vibe was pleasant. The driving was crazy and some areas had a trash problem, so it's not perfect. Panama is on the list of retirement places for me. We plan to spend a few weeks in the country to see if we can live there.
  • Thank you for sharing the countries from the TRAVEL NOIRE article. I have a home on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica in Limon Province, and we are building a Master-Planned shipping container community there. After six years of research on where to develop my "Plan B" I decided on this area for many reasons. They look like me, they speak English on the Caribbean Coast, the food is nutrient dense and the air is clean. It's not perfect but I won't freeze to death or starve to death, and in case of a crisis, my family may be able to drive down from the U.S. Bless you for your channel. S

This should be called the 6 top countries for blacks to retire to if they know how to speak Spanish. I would not retire in none of these countries. They quote the cost of living. But they have not done their homework. There are many, many, African countries where you can live just on your social security cheques. And I am not talking about impoverish countries. You can buy a brand new house in Ghana or Kenya for between 60,000 and $80,000 us dollars. And I mean a 3 bedroom house in a gated community. They have shopping malls and nice restaurants and lots of things to do there. And they speak English. And South Africa is much better than any of these Spanish speaking countries. South Africa is still the most beautiful country that I have ever been to. And the most beautiful houses that I have ever seen are there. You can connect with your African culture. They have many festivals and activities and Plays that you can go to. Do they have that in central Mexico? You will find a good place of worship and the people there are very spiritual. And everybody looks like you. I have no idea why you would want to retire in a place where hardly no one looks like you and they speak a different language. And I haven't even mentioned the Caribbean yet. Jamaica and Barbados are a black person paradise. As for me, its very simple. The best places for black people to retire is Africa and the Caribbean.

That's not a bad list. I'm planning to visit SE Asia before I make a decision about long-term living. I'm currently in Ecuador 🇪🇨.

I've been to Mexico over a dozen times, I've been to 6 of Costa Rica's 7 provinces and I've been to Panama but, one country I would put at the very top of this list is New Zealand. I was there for 26 days this past January. The place is clean, has universal health care, not crowded at all, very safe and the people there are very friendly. The cops there don't even carry guns. Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to be rich to live there. You do have to have your financial house in order, and you can't be barely making ends meet but, you don't have to be rich to retire there. The retirement visa is only good for two years so, every two years you have to renew your visa and you're literally on the other side of the planet from the USA (that could be a good thing) but, if you can deal with those two things, IMHO, New Zealand is the closest thing to paradise on the planet.

This sounds more like a white people's list. I've lived in a few of those countries. Panama was fine, and México was just okay. Funny that they didn't mention any African countries. Ive lived in several African countries that are better than some of the cities on this list. I'm living now in Botswana and will more than likely remain here after a lot of traveling. It's a shame that so many black people will tout countries like those on this list and totally miss the entire African continent.
  • -Vietnam - Indonesia - The Philippines - Panama - Thailand - Belize imo
  • Por favor si se mudan a nuestros paises aprendan Español. Plis if you americans are going to move to our countries learn Spanish.
  • I know there will be comments about Spain protests against "tourists" one if you choose the right place and LIVE there not in an air BnB and try to make local friends not just expat bubble, it might be different. Spain in places can be racist I've heard from multiple folks including a woman who is Jewish who felt they were closed off and "rule bound" I forget what city it was.
  • @RatedArggg
You forgot to mention the Galapagos Islands off the coast of Ecuador - that would be a big draw for me.
  • Video suggestion: cities and regions within more expensive countries that are less expensive to live in. For example, France's smaller cities (like Dijon) and rural areas are quite affordable.
  • I enjoyed the professionalism of your channel and I just subscribed! 👍🏾
  • @zezeebetaa
I like that your destinations are reachable
  • Kudos to the mother for suggesting father and son bonding. I love it that's very important.

America has been open to all for so long and im actually shocked at laws outside of America. I dont disagree with the laws but makes me rethink how America laws are set up. I keep picking a place but changing it. I hope to come close to a decision asap though. It seems like many countries are tightening their laws even more and getting Americans out. So if you considering it may want to get things on place quickly.
  • You left off Africa for black folks. Rawanda is considered the black Singapore. Also, I lived in Ethiopia for 3 years. (I’m from California). One of the best experiences in my life. Also, I hear great things about Kenya & Ghana.
