I completely stopped sugar almost 2 years ago when I started noticing the signs of insulin resistance. It was very tough on me and I used to get withdrawal symptoms but I kept going on because I do not want to get into diabetes and more health related issues. I replaced sugar with stevia and it worked like a magic for me. After 6 months I was able to stop stevia too. Now I’m completely sugar free. Don’t have withdrawal symptoms. My health improved and I lost 20 pounds of weight. I felt so much better and never going back that route. I do get sugar cravings but I rely on natural or wholesome foods like berries to crave my sweet tooth.

I live in Kentucky. My husband and I eat a carnivore diet for the past 7 years, but the amount of sugar and carbs consumed by most of our friends and coworkers is shocking. One kid my husband works with said he literally has never drank water. He only drinks coke, coffee and beer.😢😢😢

It’s not the carbs it’s the farbs. Fat + carbs = farbs.

I just don't trust olive oil or avocado oil. Too many of them have been found to be oxidized and/or adulterated, so I'm sticking with butter, ghee, and tallow.

Normally, I agree with Thomas, but he lost me here when he said saturated fat is an issue. It's NOT an issue as long as you control inflammation and have a good ratio of omega 3 to omega 6. Most of the fat around the heart is saturated. It isn't called saturated because it saturates your arteries; it's called saturated because it is saturated with hydrogen atoms and thus provides no more room for carbon atoms on the fatty acid chain. Some of the highest saturated fat-consuming cultures in the world have some of the lowest rates of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. It's only when they replace those traditional fats with seed oils and trans fats that you have major issues, and heart disease, cancer, and diabetes skyrocket. You are throwing that ratio out of balance. It happened in the USA, India, and Japan, among other places. It's a tragedy. I would point you to the work of Dr James Dinicolantonio. He is one of the foremost cardiac researchers in the world. He expounds a lot on this info in his book "Super Fuel." I am reading it right now, and it's AMAZING! Would recommend it to anyone.

Note that West Virginia is the 2nd poorest state in the US. (Mississippi is 1st). WV is also 2nd in drug abuse. 🙁

MUFAs and PUFAs all make my neuropathy so much worse. Full fat dairy doesnt trigger my neuropathy and actually seems to relieve it

Just a single soda-pop beverage (16oz) has a whopping 52 grams of sugar. One apple: 25 grams of sugar, glass of OJ: 28 grams.
  • Sugars are in many things. They can consume sugar as white sugar and none other sources like honey, potatoes, fruits, lactose etc. I know people that swear they dont eat sugar but they eat fruits and drink juices, eat carbs and pasta daily... And diabetes is a seed oil cause not neceserly because of sugar.... Mostly sugar + seed oils

I’m from Kentucky. I don’t consume sugar in any form. My carbs come from meat and eggs. I’m treated like I’m not the healthy one.

therefore, to a fully fed human adult, Ice cream is liquid death.

It's crazy to me that people still think that saturated fat isn't the best fuel for the human body. Mad world. Saturated fat doesn't cause insulin resistance, and is not problematic. Lol

I could have told ya this without the study. Watch people eat everyday and what they eat. Look at the Mcdonalds drive thru line everyday. Starbucks drive thru line everyday.

I can’t wait to increase my income and my health with it, being right on the edge of starving is no American life and the people that think they’re eating good because they eat more, just eating fillers, Big food and big pharma got one hell of a system, thank god for men like you, empowering the people
  • Moral of the story…….stop eating sugar and eat a lot more protein. Your welcome.
  • 4:12 **Air dried chips, could they equate to an increase in acrylamide? Acrylamide forms during high-temperature cooking, such as frying, roasting, and **baking. In research studies, high levels of acrylamide caused cancer in laboratory animals, but the levels of acrylamide used in these studies were much greater than those found in human food

*Key Takeaways:* 1. *High Sugar Consumption:* The average American consumes about 17 teaspoons of sugar daily, with states like Kentucky, Mississippi, West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Arkansas consuming even more. 2. *Correlation with Poor Health Outcomes:* High sugar intake is associated with lower life expectancies, particularly in states with the highest consumption levels. Mississippi and West Virginia have the lowest life expectancies in the United States. 3. *Role of Fat Intake:* While saturated fat is often criticized, the primary concern is excessive consumption. Moderate intake of saturated fat, when not accompanied by a caloric surplus, is not as problematic. However, high saturated fat intake can lead to insulin resistance and metabolic issues. 4. *Processed Carbohydrates and Mortality:* A study highlighted that a high intake of ultra-processed carbohydrates significantly increases the risk of all-cause mortality, even more than high fat intake. 5. *Metabolic Impact:* The combination of high sugar and high saturated fat intake can lead to chronic inflammation, metabolic damage, and increased insulin levels, which impede fat burning and contribute to obesity. 6. *Dietary Recommendations:* Emphasizing protein intake and reducing refined starches can help improve metabolic health. DeLauer suggests that healthier fat sources, like olive oil and macadamia nuts, are preferable. 7. *Access to Healthy Foods:* For those in regions with limited access to healthy options, online services like Thrive Market can provide healthier processed food alternatives at a discount, aiding in better dietary choices. 8. *Overall Health Strategy:* A balanced diet with a focus on protein and healthy fats, alongside reducing sugar and refined carbohydrate intake, is crucial for improving health outcomes and managing risks associated with high sugar and fat consumption.
