New subscriber here from the USA. I remember having the same feelings about meeting a handsome man as you did, hardly able to conceal that my heart was beating out of my chest. I am about 10 years older than you and I came out at 19 years old in the 1980s. Much different time, AIDS was raging, there was so much homophobia and the city where I was living (Minneapolis) was having a spate of gay murders. But I was not going to hide in the closet despite these issues. I grew up in a fundamentalist Lutheran Church and when I got out of that town I vowed I would not waste away my life and moved away. I made some terrible mistakes back then, I am surprised I did not get sick or killed LOL! I finally got involved in local LGBT charities, met some crazy cool people and had some of the best friends and sexy boyfriends. Ahh to be young.... Now I have been with my man since about the time you came out who I met in 1996... 25 years!!! We have been legally married 6! Anyway, great to meet you.

Hi Craig. Very interesting to read your story. I came out quite young. Met this guy in a bar at age 16 and literally felt an electric shock. We had fling then parted. Met up again when I was 22. Cut a long story short we were together until his tragic death in 2018. I'm hoping for that feeling again but maybe it only happens once in a lifetime? Anyway you are an inspiring man. Enjoy your life!
