    Edit: 2 Eye Shots will kill a Factory Strider straight up it’s just difficult to do if it’s still mobile or armed with Gatling. Been loving the Commando so far for Blitzes and hope you guys found the video insightful! As always my favorite comment will be featured at the end of the next!

    I love this thing…yeah, 2 shots on a turret isn’t amazing, but you usually need 2 EATs for them too. That’s an entire drop vs. half a drop, plus you can carry it all at once instead of needing to run back for the other one or call it down where you need it. If you show up to a heavy outpost with a Commando already on you, you can call a second one down, 2-tap both the turrets, then pick up the next one and be able to take out all 4 fabricators. Actually seems like a net upgrade to the EAT in more situations than not.

    Maybe I've been made cynical by the last few patches (excepting the most recent one) but having a weapon come out in a good, working state that both fits in the meta and offers new ways of play feels like such a big W.
  • I find running the Commando alongside EAT-17s to be pretty decent for AT needs. All we need now is the REC-6 Demolition Packs, and the "Expendables" loadout will be complete.

    I find it funny how some people/youtubers where complaining about how it does LESS damage then the EAT, to which I replay "Dude, you have 4 rockets, what is your major malfunction!" If this thing did the same damage as the EAT, THATS CALLED POWER CREEP! At least it can take out Fabricators from any angle which is NICE, we now have a disposable missile launcher. Although, They must have buffed the Fabricators at some point cus I SWEAR the Auto Cannon/Rocket Turret could take em out from any angle before. So could the Mech Missiles when they first appeared. Its nice to see an old friend from the first war, I wonder if we will see more as time goes on.

    Eravin- Pro tip, aim center mass on gunships and they will likely sway enough that commando hits an engine

    This is absolutely pure utility against fabs. Pair it with an Eagle 500kg or Precision Strike for Detector Towers and you are now the Demolition Man!

  • I think the commando fits a niche I was looking for which is a preprepared rockets without using a backpack. The other rocket launchers are nice but it does feel limiting if you need a backpack, and the quasar just doesn’t have that normal punch to it anymore. So the commando works perfect since unlike the EAT, where you spawn 2 and you can only carry one which makes it more of a panic stratagem, the commando you can prepare once you first hit the ground and keep it on you just in case. And with its 140 seconds refresh time, by the time you are done with your first Commando, you can call in your next one. It’s really good support if your load out can’t handle some of the bigger targets.

    I’ve been solely running the explosive crossbow and anti material rifle since the last major update where they buff the crossbow so it can destroy fabricators, but I think this new support weapon will finally change up my loadout. I’m the type of player to run off alone and take out most of the enemy bases and side objectives and when defending X-45, I found that the 2 minute timer wasn’t actually that long for taking out fabricators. You get 4 missiles so you can take out any enemy base and if you called it in before you reached the base, but the time you were running away, the timer would be over and you can call in another one to take out the next base. So I think using the Diligence Counter Sniper with this stratagem is going to be way more effective than my current combo.
  • First mission using against bots, all 4 of us brought orbitals/eagles, no other support since we were going to use the free Commando call in Landed into a heavy gunship fab and patrol It was not a fun first 10 minutes

    I still dont see myself not just spamming the Autocannon for everything. Crazy how they never nerfed the AC even thou its the solution for pretty much everything on Bots9.

    I'm quite happy with how this turned out. For gunship patrols, when I bring the railgun, I'll supplement with the rocket sentry. Could also be a good solution for gunship patrols with commando.
